How is this? Comes in about $200 less then the Corbin.

Free shipping too! I need a seat that has a back rest for the passenger.

I don't think the Saddlemen comes with a passenger backrest, I think only a driver one. However with the Corbin you can buy a backrest for either the driver or passenger. But even if you don't want to spend you extra money on "their" backrest, any backrest and mounting kit should work and may end up being a little cheaper for you no matter what brand seat you get. Saddlemen is certainly better than the stock, but I suggest you do some searching on this forum concerning the different seats and mods and also search the Internet for ideas and suggestions. You may find that the $200 extra for the Corbin may be worth it.

You'll still need to put a separate backrest for the passenger, Mapam, Suzuki, Cobra to name a few.
If you get that seat let us know how you like it, I personally didn't wait for the Saddleman and got the Corbin, one reason being the gel and the warm weather here.

Okay now that I have the back rest I need a seat. What is wrong with this seat?

eBay Motors: SADDLEMEN EXPLORER GEL SEAT SUZUKI BOULEVARD M50 (item 270118068931 end time Jun-05-07 20:06:43 PDT)

The price looks good. $250 less then the Corbin. I don't care about it being a gell seat cause I live in the pnw. We only see sunshine a couple days a year. Has anywon bought the explorer yet? I can't seem to find any reviews.

What is the problem with gel seats and hot weather? Did anyone have any problems? Do they not work right in hot climates?

I think it is because the gel gets hot...and kind of melts and loses its consistency

Does anyone own or know someone who owns this seat? I would like to buy it but would like to get an opinion on it first.

I'vs got one on my bike and love the comfort over the stock seat. Seat height does drop about 2" though, so make sure that is the way you want to go. The significant other is much happier also.

Yes, I purchased the Explorer mainly for her. It does relocate you farther forward and defintely much lower on the bike. I am designing my own forward controls now as it is too cramped for my preference. I work part time at a dealership so I got mine through them at a great price. I just took some photos last night of the bike and will be posting them hopefully later today.

How much more comfortable is this seat over the factory seat. What about for the passenger?

It's the difference between riding for 20 minutes with a numb _ss and going for hours! No questions from the significant other - she WANTS to go riding now!

How much of a gap does the seat have between the front of the seat and the tank. Some pictures that I have seen looks like there is a big gap. Can you do close ups of that area?

I am 6ft tall and you mentioned the seat moves you forward somewhat. Will it move me too far forward?

Sorry for all of the questions, but I hate to spend money and find out I don't like it...thanks

Thanks for all the useful info, bike looks great especially the pipe. How easy was it to install the seat? Is it a perfect fit or did you have to do anything special? How long would it take for an average individual to install it?

Thanks.

Well, I went ahead and took the plunge today. I just ordered my Corbin seat from Oneida. Nobody has the Saddlemen in stock and most people told me the waiting time was about a month. I don't feel like waiting that long. For $150 more I just said the hell with it. I will post pics as soon as it comes in.

Default comparatives?

How does the size and dimensions compare to the dual tour? I can't find anything on their site that has the specs.
thanks for your help...
