alright. . . so i only made it to 284 miles and had to do it! just liberated my baffles this afternoon i know everyone says it, but it sounds so much better than i expected bike rides as smooth as ever. . . thanks for the assistance guys

I had the same problem originally with using both hole saws at the same time, I solved this by screwing the two together with 2 tapping screws. And I have over 6000 km on her now with no blueing.

How the hell do you burn up a drill by doing this?

You are drilling thru 2 sets of welds at the same time (welds are harder than the surrounding metal).
