| debaffled couple weeks ago, followed video on debaffle only trouble arbors didn"t fit 3/8" chuck on drill returned hole saws to lowes(head hung low) didn't want to buy 1/2" drill just call me "low budget" or "cheap" for short. Still determined to debaffle went to my small town hardware store, to my surprise they had various size hole saws to rent like $5 bucks a day. Why buy for one time use. Rented 1/2" drill from local DIY shop $6 all went well after rounding up equipment.

| Hi guys, I just joined the forum today, and appreciate all of your insight over the past week. I just successfully debaffled my '07 C50 and thought I'd throw some tips out there. I'm also in the AF and wanna give a shout out to the other blue suiter. - I initially tried the drilled holes in the back plate as an experiment and wish I hadn't because it significantly hindered the debaffling project. - You want a drill with a lot of torque. I, like most of you, burnt up a cheap corded drill, before I just deicided to head to the pawn shop. I spent $40 on a veteran-lookin Dewalt drill that made short work of the whole process that is still usable now. - I bought my hole saws at Northern tool. The Irwin parts will all hookup on the same arbor and if they're bimetallic, still look new when you're done. - If you don't have a dowel rod...a broom stick works perfect. - Take it easy, a high torque drill has the potential to twist your arm very quickly. Again thanks for everything and I look forward to learning off this forum. -Jeff '07 Boully C50 |

| Charleston. I used to be a Jet Engine mech at Dover, but I retrained a couple years ago to C-17 Loadmaster. Life is good now. I wanted to ride this weekend, but all the storms and smoke from GA are wreaking havoc up here.

| Well, I have got one of my pipes done and it isn't too pretty at the moment. Took much longer than I expected and alot of improvising but has made a huge difference in sound so I will stick it out and keep working on the lower pipe.

| It could be your drill. Is it a good corded one? It was looking really grim for me until i went out and got that Dewalt, then it was a breeze.

| ok, so for you guys that have debaffled, is there any concern with having to get a re-map done? i keep getting mixed reviews from riders i know (though several of them ride harleys and are about 20+ years older than i am) saying that it will blue the pipes, and mess up the air/fuel ratio, and possibly mess it up so bad that it won't even run. many of you guys have done it, what has been your experience? are there any negative consequences to just removing the baffles and riding off or is there anything else that needs/should be done once removing the baffles? thanks for the guidance!

| the video can be found if you search around this forum, but i hate to tell you, debaffling like the video won't work for the c90. somebody tried to do that on the volusia forum and said that the pipes are not the same around the baffle. a friend of mine drilled holes and we could see that behind that back plate there was something different. you could still drill holes around the opening. that'll make a little more noise, but not much.

| Sorry to disapoint you guys, as it says in my signature I'm a Charlie-Fifty guy. I did however consider the M-50 first, but got all wrapped up in the small creature comforts and styling of the cruiser. As for re-mapping and blueing...over 300 miles since debaffle, not one issue. Have fun, ya'll.

| Just debaffled mine over this weekend. I love the sound. 100x better than stock. I find myself revving the engine even more now. I highly reccomend doing this mod. It took like 2.5 hours total for me of course that was starting with a drill that was not charged. Overall maybe 20 min total worth of work.

| I debaffled on the weekend, and it is considerably louder than the 8 x 1/2 inch holes that were in there previously. I have started to ride to work every day now, even though it is now Autumn. time traffic, and cost were the 3 main factors. At least they will hear me coming now. |

| Well, my buddy just got married in PA last weekend, so a bunch of HD buddies and I decided to go up there and back to Charleston SC on the bikes. So I can honestly say I have 2000 miles on the debaffled pipes (5000 total miles) on my '07 Boully. No worries. Oh, and I have recently decided on a windshield...
