Default Has anyone put a Linby Twin Bar in an M50

If so, where did you get it? I am looking at highway bars and can't decide what to get.

Does the highway bar fit over a John's Kit forward?

Here's mine. Got it from Lindby, directly.

However, as far as I know, it WON'T fit with a John's forward kit installed.

I think you'll need the Smalley adaptor kit to use any highway bars with John's kit.

I don't know if the linby bar would fit the look of the bike personally.

I think the bar looks pretty good on your bike. How much did it cost you, and do you have the url to Linby?

Thanks.

Are there any other bars that you think would?

I don't remember any more how much it cost. You might also try Oneida Suzuki i if they have it, it's probably cheaper than from Lindby.

I've been reading some horror stories over at Cruiser customizing about how it is difficult to install. Did you have any trouble?

Thanks

that's the thing I've struggled with the most on the M, to be honest. The onyl ones that don't completely muck up the front end are the OEM case guards, and they really aren't any protection at all.

Currently I'm running without. I hope to change it soon, but I can't find anything that doesn't make the bike look like a C50 instead of the muscular styling I fell in love with.

The only trouble I had was that I'd completely tightened down the top right bolt before even starting the rest of the bolts. Nothing would fit then. Loosening up that bolt made the rest of them workable (with a little muscle) I do remember, though, folks here saying they had some problems getting all four bolts lined up.

However, the most worrisome thing that happened to me (after I loosened the top right bolt that I shouldn't have tightened down so soon, anyway) was that the hose clip on the left side that's held down by the top left bolt (above the shifter) absolutely refused to stay in place for me while I was trying to line up the holes and slide the bolt in. I wound up using both hands to align the bars with the hole in the frame while keeping the hose clip in place, and then pushing the bolt in with my nose. That was interesting. I wouldn't call it a "horror story", though...

It sounds like an exciting install. I will probably go with this bar if I can find a price that won't break the bank.

Thanks for all the info.

I sold my OEM case guards. I didn't see the need to keep them on if they offered no protection. I agree that most of the crash bars make the M look like the C. I feel, however, that the Linby is the lesser of the evils when it comes to the styling impact. I'm probably going to go with that if I can find a set at a reasonable price.

Thanks

I like the look of the Lindby, but hard to find a used one.
