Default Cheap(er) way to side mount the plate

I wanted to try and side mount my plate using that big ugly black bolt on the fake swingarm cover, but really was having trouble finding a setup that worked. So, I ordered a part from phat performance after a phone call to see its measurements, and I gave it a shot tonight.

Well, as luck would have it...it worked.

I'm loving it. (and yeah, I realize I need a plate frame, that's tomorrow. I'm too lazy to run and get it tonight)

Here's how it mounts...

That bolt is the ugliest part of that section of the bike, and this makes it functional. total cost? 48 bucks from Phat performance, here: click me

You have to grind out the hole a bit, as its too small for the bolt at first, but its not off by more than a couple MM's, so it doesn't take long. And, there's a collar on that bolt, so the edges don't show at all. Obviously those of you that have to have a light on the license plate would need to have a lighted frame, but tha's not a huge expense.

So, there ya go. Whadya think? (It doesn't look so horizontal in person, it looks "flatter" in the pictures than it is)

Oh...I also mounted my alley cat today...I like the look on the M a lot.
