Default First ride of the spring!

I know spring isn't officially here yet, but it finally got above freezing today. We saw an unusually warm 60 degrees today, and I just couldn't resist a short ride. I only rode about 3 miles, but it sure felt good.

You beat me. It got to about 45°F here today & I rode up & down my 60' driveway a few times. I also couldn't resist a short ride.

I'm jealous...the weather's gorgeous here, but I just had hand surgery today, so I'm off the bike for several weeks.....sucks to be me...lol.

And I just found some really great roads around here too! And I'm off work for a month...all this time...sigh....

Finally got my bike put back together and went for a 200 mile ride Sunday. It was in the 80s, perfect weather.

80's? must live in Hawaii. Sunday was pretty nice in NM, in the 60's where I am. I took the bike out of the garage, washed it, then a cloud came over and it sprinkled a little, took it inside the garage, dried it, waxed it, noticed the speedometer loose - 2 bolts missing underneath (anyone know what I should replace them with?), put the helmet on and took -er for a spin, nearest thing to flying. Now she's muddy again! Ah Spring is here!!

You can replace them with some hex bolts from the hardware store. Put some blue loc tite on them.

Don't forget to check the bolts under the rear fender, there are 3 bolts that hold up the tail light housing.

Thanks SNAFU! Do you happen to know what size bolts fit the gauges or where I can get that info? I had been checking the tail light assembly due to previous posts warning about that, but hadn't been looking at the gauges. I see you're in Winnipeg- I drove by Winnipeg 30 years ago and there was a jingle playing on the radio: "gondola pizza, our pizza can't be beatsa" - I can't get it out of my head and it's 30 years later.

Sorry I don't remember that jingle, I would've been only 4 years old. I betcha if you came back the city would still look the same.

For the hex bolts I don't exactly know the size. They were cheap so I just bought 2 or 3 pairs that seemed like the right size and found one pair that fit. These hex bolts were black in colour too.

Well...Happy Saint Patrick's Day...

We here in the Capital Region got about 15" of snow. UGH!! Seems like most of the Northeast got hit pretty good...

And get this- apparently by the end of next week, we should be seeing 40s and 50s...so perhaps the Albany St. Patrick's Parade can go off next Saturday without a hitch!

Now we have to wait a couple more weeks for riding season to start...
