Default Went on a great ride this weekend

Did my first long ride of the season. Took 601 South from Concord, NC to the South Carolina state-line and back. Beautiful ride, and great weather. Tripometer showed 170 mile by the time I got home.

601, while I've heard is one of the most dangerous roads as far as accidents go in North Carolina, largly due to the fact that its a 55 mph, two lane (one each way) road, shared by car, cycles and tractors... I found the trip to be very pleasing. Lots of hills, scenery, farms, ponds, horses... very beautiful. There are also many stretches of road where there was no one at all I was able to open up the throttle a bit. Took about 4.5 hours total, there and back... but what a great start to the season!

Just thought I'd share.
