ILm50. That's where I saw the Saddlemen (website) too, but a number of people here have said no. But I still may try it. The one thing I can't find is any dimensions for the Saddleman seat. If there are any in that magazine, could you please post them here? I think, for me, I'm going to go with whichever seat is bigger. I'm about 5'11'' and 320lbs. so the bigger the better.

You know......I may eat my words about no Saddleman. It does appear that they did get around to making some, according to Dennis Kirk's catalog. They are showing different numbers than for the Marauder, and sure as heck that is an explorer pictured mounted on an M50. What sucks is that Saddleman's own site really does need to be updated

Checked th D/K website, they had theses dimensions listed for the Explorers for the Honda 750's:

Dimensions:
Overall length: 33in.
Drivers Seat Dimensions:
Length:19in.
Width:15in.
Backrest Height:9in.
Passenger Seat Dimensions:
Length:14in.
Width:14in.

Unfortunately, they did not have any dimensions listed for the Suzukis....

Default What's wrong with the seat?

I keep hearing that the seat is bad.... i guess I can't figure that out.... it seems fine to me. However, I do grant the possibility that if I spent 500 bucks on a Mustang or Corbin, I might find it was better. I know of a couple giys who tried Corbin and did'nt like it. Then again., most guys seem to need to replace the seat.........so let the spending begin !

So, Jack Black, did Suzuki pay you licensing rights since they must have designed the M50 seat JUST FOR YOU ALONE?

Actually, it's more like he sat correctly in it from the very beginning.

I used to be a complainer of the seat too...then found it was the "way" I was sitting which was the real problem.

There's a thread in here somewhere which explains it...I just have no idea where.

And who exactly led you to "the way"?

My last problem. Where to buy a Corbin seat. Obviously there is Corbin's website, but I was trying to find a site that has it for less. Anyone have any suggestions?

SInce I last modded the seat, I have about 15 hrs in the saddle, for about 2-3 hrs at a time.

The last mods have given me the ability to be uncomfortable after 3 hrs. Previously I was sore, ... very sore.

Mod will cost a half hour and about $10.
Is basically a partial lumpectomy, and reshaping of the seat.

Worth a try instead of paying a fortune for a replacement, albeit a confortable replacement.

I bought one. I didn't fix much, and they did it wrong. The hump is still there, and the gel is on top. I'll be tearing into it and fixing it before I use it.

I modded my original seat with a bonda buildup to eliminate the hump, and that made a significant difference (but not perfect, or anywhere near perfect), but on the gel seat I'm gonna do that and move the gel to the bottom of the seat. Plus I'll probably add a bit of padding into the 'hole' that the hump leaves in the original padding. I'm hoping that the combination will finally come close to doing the trick.

Run! Forrest! Run!!!!!

If you Search using my handle and gel seat, I'm sure you'll find some very entertaining stories about the gel seat.

I wish we knew for sure if that saddlemen profiler seat in dennis kirk is actually for our bikes. That looks like it would be a pretty nice seat. Wish i could see some pics first though.

This past weekend I went to a Suzuki dealership asking them for any seat recommendations. They opened up the Corbin book and the Saddlemen book and showed me what was available. I wasn't looking for the Profiler, but it was one of the ones that they said was available. Remember, even if you don't want to buy it from the dealership a lot of those guys in the parts dep. know what can/can't go on your bike.
