I've got a Hellcat on mine, it's similar in size to the OEM suzuki (don't get that one btw, it's $300! mine is ~$100 new) Personally I don't like the bigger "cop bike" shields. I think they look out of place on a streamlined M50, but I'm sure they do a better job of blocking the wind.

Default Memphis shade rust...

*sigh*... my new Memphis Shades Fats shield is rusting on the front chrome strip.. lots of little rust pits showing (from inadequate surface prep before chroming I bet) ....after only about a month. I asked the shop I bought it from and they tell me Memphis is expressing new chrome to me. Just FYI...
I cant seem to get a pic that close up.....if I figure that out I will post...

Annie

... I suspect that you were not talking to me ( mine is not a hellcat ) but I will answer. I used the quick removal mount kit Memphis offers for this windshield. 4 quick turn hex heads and the windshield lifts right off. It is a well engineered solid aluminun mount and easy to install.

Default which cutout

I have the M50 also and am leaning toward the Big shot. I wondered what size cutout its going to take.

I'm also 6'6'' and worry about buffeting. I would think 20 inches would be high enough, plus I have access to a windshield cutter if its too high.

Here's a picture of mine. I'm 5'10", and the windshield sits about 3" to 4" below my eye level when riding. This one is the 7" cutout, and I think it's fine, since it hovers over the back of the headlight. You could go with the 9" also, and it might not look so narrow on the sides. However, if I had to lower mine (I don't), it should fit fine. Well, at least adequately.

I got the big shot and just as I feared, buffiting up the wazoo. My helmet has so much buffiting it feels like my head is in a paint mixer. I'm 6' 7'' although I have to crouch really low to cut it out completely.

I wear a full face helmet and I'm thinking about cutting it down and just using it to block the wind on my chest, which is my only real annoyence.

Sorry to hear that, Jonger. 'Course, your 6'7 is absolutely stratospheric compared to my 5'10. You're 'way up there in the slipstream...

Annie: Thanks. Hey! Maybe now's the time to restate my blue-color theory. See, it's like this:

There's really only one color, and that's blue. Everything else is just a shade of blue. Some are darker (there's folks who think REALLY dark blue is something called "black"), and some are lighter (there's folks that think really light blue is something they call grey, or maybe silver), and some of the blues are mistakenly called red, which is really just one of the blue shades, but from WAY out in left field.

Naw, I won't mention my blue color theory, after all.

But, thanks, anyway. I certainly like my bike...

Just bought the AlleyCat, 7"..I just pray I got the right mounting hardware for it...I think I did.....

As long as it keeps me from getting beat up, and my helmet doesnt bounce around like a ping pong ball, I'll be happy.

I've got the MS Poptop shield on my M50 (9" cutout) with quick change mounting kit. I tried it in several heights/ angles and got a lot of buffeting from it. Now I've got it set as low as poss. on the forks and max angle (used 1 of the side "accent" slots to mount top bolts instead of the quick release hook slot. The angle looks great on the bike and minimal buffeting, the wind hits me uniformly about nose height which is fine as long as I'm wearing my full face helmet-which I do all the time now that I finally found one I really like. It'll probably cause issues with a beanie helmet or no helmet/just glasses, but the only times I ride that way is the hottest part of the summer and I would take the shield off then anyway.

ps I'm 5'5" and the bike is stock height and the shield is the clear "solor" tint.

I bought a Spitfire for my bike. I believe they are made for all models of Suzukis and are easy to install.

I went with the memphis shades alley cat, which is part of the sport shield line, that includes the big shot, and the poptop. The alley cat is in the middle height, but all three are essantially the same shape. I think they look better on the m50, because they're sportier then the fats. My m50 is blue, but I went with the gradient black on the shield.
