Default Bags

I intend to pick up some bags at the bike show in January. Don't really know which ones yet but my quetion is 'should I buy the M50 saddlebag supports '?
Would most after market bags fit using the OEM supports. (I know , that is two questions )! Any help ior suggestions would be appreciated.

I would definitely buy the supports. Nothing sucks worse than catching a bag in you wheel, Plus they also offer quite a bit of stability. I had problems finding them for the m50. If you can't find them, the c50 ones work just fine.

+1 Trav. I had a little trouble with one of the bolts. The forward right side bolt did not want to go back into the nut. I ended up having to drill out the nut a bit then jam the bolt home with the drill.

Be sure to put the spacers on as well, otherwise the bolts will rub on the rear tire.

I recently bought chrome supports for hang-over bags.

eBay Motors: Suzuki C50 M50 Boulevard Volusia SADDLEBAG SUPPORTS (item 120058402197 end time Dec-04-06 16:15:21 PST)

I had to buy longer bolts to fit them. M8 x 90mm x 1.25 pitch.

The inner metal fender support may well move if you remove all 4 bolts at the same time. Do them one at a time. Peek under the fender when you have done to see if they stick out beyond the nuts. The rear bolts have loose nuts & the forward bolts have captive nuts. Put thread locker on the new bolts

I also bought Tourmaster Cruiser II slant XL bags that zip on/off.

I purchased my saddlebag supports for my M50 from andrews cycles who ordered them direct from Suzuki and they fit perfect-i actually installed them in the dealers parking lot and only took few minutes once i had the correct allen wrench

I already had the OEM backrest and ran into probs with aftermarket guards and the bolt length. The rounded "peg" of the guards I tried made the bolts to short to thread. I got the OEM for C50 and mounted on my M without a problem. The OEM guards are flat where they mount to bike. I also mounted them on the opposite side from the instructions so they face in. This makes a "flusher" mount. I also plan to put some "cuts" in the mounts so they can be removed without taking out the bolts. Yes I am using throw over bags.

Yep, I believe I created some new cuss words while putting on supports....I'm surprised I didn't get a note from the homeowner's association...lol. And then Santa brought me Easy Brackets for Christmas last year, so I had to tackle it once again, but the second time wasn't so bad...lots of beer first made it less stressful!
