Did a short run to woodend and back this morning - the back way - via kangaroo ground, hurstbridge, Whittlesea etc. For those not in Victoria, that means 100km of twisties in each direction - mostly back roads, with light traffic. To this stage - had only put 50 km's on the new M50 amazing how the old riding habits come back quickly. And how much the bike (and the rider) free up after a few hundred Km's. An old trick I used to teach others was to forget about speed and the corner, just to balance the bike. As sson as you do this, you look down mid corner - and you are comfortably tracking at 130 in a 85km corner - and you have heaps of cornering traction in reserve. Soo good for confidence. The tyres are scuffed right to the edge of the tread curvature now!. I am gunna enjoy this bike - They have come a long way since the80's! |
