Default M50 non-scientific mpg test

Before I give my results, you should know that I have the Thunder Air Intake, Jardine Slashcut Pipes, and Techlusion fuel processor with the settings recomended somewhere around here in a thread, so if anything a stock M50 should get better results.

First I rode the bike the way I LIKE to. Hard rowdy acceleration, lots of useless revving when at idle, and top speeds in the neighborhood of 70-75 mph. Basically a healthy dose of hooliganism, what can I say. I rode it this way for 5 tanks, both city and freeway conditions, and my average mpg was 42 mpg. Next I did the exact opposite. For 5 tanks I accelerated slowly and evenly, shifted early and often never letting the rpm get high but also not lugging the engine, and never exceeded 55mph. Both city and freeway riding, the same streets and freeways in the same proportions. The average shot up to 53mpg. I weigh 230 lbs. and never rode 2up for the duration of my silly little experiment. The bike is well broken in with 3500 miles and I use synthetic oil and 91 octane. I don't know if 87 octane would have any noticeable effect on this. Basically it boiled down to a 20% difference in mpg between a very conservative riding style and something else.
