Dude, all I can say is:

MOVE!!!!!!!

In the nearly 12 years I've lived in Atlanta, there have been maybe 6 days where the weather was too icy to ride. Hell, I haven't owned a car in almost 6 years now.

Are you packing yet?

I feel for you though- I grew up in New Hampshire, and had more than my fill of long winters stairing at a neglected motorcycle.

I'm in NH and I'm still commuting everyday it doesn't rain. You just need to dress for it. I'm going to try to ride until they start throwing the sand/salt down.

Haha I don't own a car anymore, just a motorcycle and I still ride it everyday rain or shine, but I must say it gets really cold when going 85 or so on the interstate.

Not to rub it in, Rico...(okay, well maybe just a little)....but it's finally cool enough here to actually enjoy riding without fear of heatstroke I do feel for you though...we have the opposite problem here of course...non-riding season is in the heat of the summer, unless you stay on the highway and don't ever stop!

I know what you mean - it's getting downright chilly here, too. Real coat and gloves time... Why, just this morning when I went into work, it was actually down BELOW 65, and it only got up to 82 or so this afternoon.

OK, OK. Sorry (kinda) for pulling your chain. Seriously though, I did see a cloud in the sky today. Briefly. Off to the south. 'Way off to the south. But it was there. That made it a cloudy day, didn't it?

Not if I can help it. Just scoped out heated gloves yesterday...<gulp> $185 bucks.
I'm insured through the winter and if I gotta buy a heated vest and gloves, I'm gonna do it. We rarely get snow that lasts here, so I'm going to dress for the ride.

OMG another Tucson rider does actually exist!

The only time it's not good weather to ride down here (during the day) is during monsoon. And then it's not safe to be on the road in a car, much less on a bike.

Last year, I rode my M50 until about a week before the snow hit (I had a bad cold). This year, I plan to do the same thing (just not with the M...). The unfortunate thing around here is, they do a crap job cleaning snow off the roadways (as I'm sure that LJM9000 can attest)...

Its been 32 - 35 in the mornings here in Charlotte, NC.

We moved here from Florida last year... 30's is way too cold for me to ride in.

While it's usually pretty nice by mid day in the desert near Phoenix, last year I found myself riding 45 miles to work one morning, but I didn't realize how cold it was outside. Once I got to work I found out it was 22 degrees F and then realized that's why I couldn't feel my hands. I'm thinking heated gear might work just fine here too this winter

Hate to do this to you guys (well, not really) but it's warming up nicely Down-Under. Clear skies, warm days, the beach beckons. Clothes are comin' off and not a whole lot going back on. Bring it on.

I took the bike out for the last ride today! I was so excited that it was sunny outside so as soon as I got home from work, I grabbed my leather chaps, jacket, gloves, ran to the bike, whipped off the covers and when I put the key in and turn, NOTHING! the freaking battery was dead. I was in disbelief, there I was sitting on my bike and wanting to go but it wouldnt even crank over! I tried running it down the street to do a clutch start, nothing. Then I rememberd I can jump start it with my car, and thats exactly what I did. Of course I rode the freaking crap out of it the bike until the battery was charged, even the time was reset! at least now its out of my system. Goodnight Black Betty... I will miss riding you... until next year of course
