That's actually extremely useful, Outlaw. Now I can tell exactly when I'll not be able to feel my fingers anymore.

Default Ride or Watch the game? That was the question.

Well ladies and gents after DA Bears started kicking some serious SF Butt early on ion the game that was excuse enough for me ( game was actually boring ) to take the bike out again. I proceeded to put 150 miles in of riding today. It was a little chilly at highway speeds 50F adsd wind chill to that( 70-80 Mph) but still not bad at all ( Riding Gear On). Hopefully the temps cooperate a little longer as to extend the season a few more days!
HAppy Riding.

So, even though I get to harass all the poor northerners about their weather, I'm actually getting chilly enough in the mornings to break out the coat. And here I though acclimation was supposed to be a good thing. Maybe I'll spring for a windshield after all...
I feel so manly when I step outside into 70 deg F weather and want to put on a long sleeve shirt.

Well, it looked like it was pretty chilly this morning, although I didn't feel it...besides it was brighter.

What's better than seeing the sun come up in Autumn?

How about riding on Highway 129 in Southern Georgia and seeing the sun come up through the pines and cotton fields, like I did yesterday, Gorgeous and a great ride, only saw one deer and it was hi tailing it into the woods.

It is for me... Last week I woke up, looked at the thermometer and it said -4C. Plus it has been raining like hell here for 2 weeks so I have decided that tonight I am storing it for the winter. I love where I live, but since I got my M50 I have been dreading winter.

I've lived back in Florida for almost 10 years, and I still miss Autumn in the Northeast....it was always my favorite time of year...We have one tree in the neighborhood that actually changes colors and loses its leaves....everyone gathers around it in awe

Been considering relocating to North Carolina or somewhere, just so I can see some seasonal change again...well that and the fact that I despise my job, can't stand the uncontrolled development in Florida, and Orlando now has a higher crime rate than all of the counties in New York, including the five boroughs!

I hear what you're saying PetCop...I could probably move anywhere I wanted to...I can work from wherever there's a connection to the web, but I think I really like it up here.

I've lived in San Antonio TX, Savannah GA, a few towns in CT and continually find myself coming back to NY (which is where I was born).

I like the trees changing, the sweet smell of the grass during spring and summer...and even the smell of the autumn leaves. The bright brisk mornings...like this mornings ride, which then give way to a wonderfully sunny day.

Yeah, I really like it up here....but a slightly longer riding season would be nice too. I expect that despite my bravado about riding this time of year, I'll be staying off the bike for a few months now.

I'm taking her in for her next sevice today (after work) and then I guess I'll be putting her up for the winter. <sniff>

Don't feel too bad, Aperture...you'll be enjoying great summer rides (especially if you're upstate NY), while we're avoiding the bikes due to the heat around here. It's one of the reasons I put so few miles on this first year of riding...the heat's just awful unless you give up on wearing any kind of safety gear besides a helmet. Stop at a redlight, and you start feeling like a pig on a spit with the heat coming off the bike and road!

Got a couple of hours in today before dropping the bike off for service.
No wind, so the ride was pleasant and more bikes on the road.
Saw 20 or so compared to 3 yesterday.

Everyone asked if I was warm. It must be the layers I am wearing.
I was warm and that is all that counts.

It was unusually warm (60 F) tonight in upstate NY. I went out for an hour after dark. I'm not ready to put it away until they start salting roads. -Red

I agree Red...Salt on the road is probably the end for me too. I'd hate to see something happen to her finish. That stuff is just so nasty.

I would have kept riding, but there is so much rain now it's driving me nuts. I can deal with riding in 1C or 2C weather, as long as there is no ice on the ground, but it has rained so much I said screw it and stored it on Monday. Aaarrrrrggggghhhhh.
