Default '06 vs. '07 model

Thanks to a previous thread, I am looking at the K-drive Click and Lock saddlebag for my '07 M50. Classiccruiser.com says they fit the '06 M50. Is there any difference between the '06 and the '07 model (for mounting)? Is there any reason why they wouldn't work?

Also, I have a Suzuki luggage rack mounted on, which uses only the rear bolt. Will it be able to stay on with the saddlebag mount?

TIA

I seriously doubt it, its the same bike with an extra fuel gauge and a different paint code.

Cheers

Yes rainman. The 07 and 06 mounts are the same for the K-Locks. They will fit just fine with the OEM wire rack also. I had K-Locks on with the Suzuki wire rack that you have, and there was no problem. Now I have the passenger backrest with attached rack on instead, and the K-Locks fit perfectly with all that extra support hardware the back rest requires. You won't be dissapointed with the K Lock bags, I've never heard a bad word about them.

Thanks for the info. Is there any way you could post some pictures of your bike? I'd love to see them.

Rainman. As requested. Mine protrude a bit more from the bike due to the backrest supports pushing them out a bit, not much though, about 1/2'' more. Beautifully made bags, go on and off in an instant.

Man that all looks really great together. I'd like to copy that look exactly ;P Is the backrest/rack the OEM Suzuki one or another model? And it fits along with the OEM bag racks correct?

Okay, where have you put your rego label? On the left hand side somewhere? I hate having it on the back.

Rinshu. The backrest and rack are stock Suzuki Volusia. They are chromed steel, and were $300 cheaper than the OEM billet item for the M50. They fit perfectly on the M50 with no mods needed. Those bags are K Bags click lock, that have their own support bars. But the stock bars will fit even better as they protrude a bit less from the bike.

Mr Chicken. The rego label is carried in the bags or in a seat bag I sometimes strap to the passenger seat cause "It just fell off Officer, it will be put back on the minute I get home". So far I haven't been pulled up on it. I've even gone to the trouble to make the rego holder look as so it actually has fallen off at some stage. I refuse to have it spoiling the look of the bike. If they want to see it, I can produce it.

This might be an interesting rego holder alternative. Look under Road Accessories, Number Plate Brackets

Aussie, which shield do you have? I like that height. & was it much of an effort putting on the floorboards?

The shield is the Suzuki stock accessory for the M50. The floorboads are also Suzuki stock accessory for our bike. Fitting for the floorboards takes all of 5 minutes, you pull the cotter pin that holds on the stock pegs, replace with the boards and replace the pin. Easiest mod you can do.
