BTW.

I don't think suggesting that a new rider wear a helmet is lecturing. I don't walk up to guys and tell them their business on the street as it relates to helmets. But in this forum, where the topic has been discussed many times, I will continue to stay the course.

hahaha.. I appreciate all of your kind words and welcomings! The town I live in is pretty small, and I usually only ride in and around town. I've been riding all summer so I don't think that a course would do me any good. I'm a very defensive driver to start with and I've been hanging around with a lot of experienced riders. Nobody really wears helmets around here. Literally 1 in probably 30 bikes that you see will be a rider with a helmet. It's just not done around here. Wearing my full face helmet would be unenjoyable for me to ride and I don't like the way other helmets look. I'm sure everyone has my best interest at heart so thanks for the kind words And thanks again for all of the welcomes!

I know of guys that have been riding for 30 years, and have taken the course, and learned something. I rode the mean streets of Europe for four years, often times at sustained speeds of over 130mph. I was "made" to take the course (by the military) in order to ride on the base I was stationed at when I returned to the states. Even though I had logged many thousands of miles, I still found the course helpful. I understand how one summer can seem like a long time, but I have had 34 years to get good at riding, and still find out new things with every ride.

Take the course. It will lower your insurance, and I am confident that if you have a good set of instructors, you "will" learn something. I am not preaching, but in this case, I feel like I have enough experience to say that you still have a lot to learn.
