No but it would be good to get some rebound & dampening adjustment

Hey Sullyboo,
Lately I've been in contact with Wilbers (Wilbers USA Home) looking for new front fork springs and a replacement shock for my M50. I had just got on here to ask if anyone had an OEM rear shock that they wanted to sell or give away so that I could provide it to Wilbers so they could build a new shock for me, when I saw your post. Wilbers is located in Manalapan, New Jersey, which I assume may be somewhat close by, so if the weather is turning south for your area maybe you could volunteer your rear shock so that they can take measurements and get the data they need to provide us M50 riders with a replacement shock.

Wilbers builds shocks of all sorts to your specifications and desires, so they aren't just your average off the shelf replacement. Klaus at Wilbers may also need front fork springs too so he can get to working on a proper replacement for our bike as well.

If any of the rest of you are done with your riding season or don't mind sending over springs and shocks for development purposes for a while, send me your contact info such as e-mail address by private message and we can work together with Wilbers so that we M50 riders can finally have some suspension goodies

The riding weather is just getting good here is Arizona, but if nobody is up for donating, I guess I'll be the one sending off my springs and shocks for research

Mods can you make this a sticky so everyone may take a look and maybe participate so we can get some suspension options? Thanks

Thank you for the info. I am going to contact them to see if they want to use my bike. I will let you know their response when I hear from them. Since it is Friday night my guess is I will not hear from them until Monday.

Sullyboo,
I'm sure you'll have an e-mail from Wilbers on Monday morning. I let my contact there know that I had put out a request for someone to share their shocks and springs or I'd do it myself. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about what I've already discussed with them. Thanks

My purpose in replacing the springs and shock is to get sportier ride characteristics and to add carrying capacity for passenger or cargo.

I will be taking my bike on Sarurday for them to get measurements on the rear shocks. I am not sure when they will do the front shocks yet. I have to get a service manual first. I will keep you informed as we go along.

Coolness Sullyboo! My contact there said he already knew that the M50 had the inverted forks, so he may not need any further info regarding the front springs. I think the cost is going to be more than what a Progressive may have cost, but when questioned Progressive didn't seem to have any interest in the development of suspension goodies for this bike. Keep in touch!

That is not what Mark Foley [former chief of staff] calls rear shock.

Great. We really need a better progressive dampening rear shock on this bike.
Keep up the good work you guys. I'll buy one when its ready, for sure.

Wilber shock company took mesurements Saturday. They are now in the process of making rear shocks for our bike. It should take about 3 weeks before they are done. After that they will put it on my bike for the big test. I will keep you guys informed with up dates when they happen.

They are a company out of Germany so my guess would be yes.

Wow fax, thanks for the info. Have you tried out this particular product?

For those of you waiting for Sullyboo, I've talked to him briefly recently, but he only got his Wilbers shock installed last Wednesday so he hasn't had it all that long. The version he got has 50 settings and he seemed to be liking it so far.

Here is my report on the Wilber Shock. jmelvin is correct, I have only put 250 miles on it but I am happy with the shock so far. It rides alot smoother and still handles well in cornering. It is some thing like the one fax posted. One thing about these shocks, you can not see them once on the bike.
