| I noticed that the Suzuki S50 Boulevard has a hydraulic clutch. I looked over an online Suzuki parts fiche and I think that it might be possible to put the hydraulic clutch parts from the S50 onto the M50. The only thing that would definitely not work directly from the S50 is the hydrualic line itself, as it is partially hard line and would be specific to the S50 bike. The line appears to be a banjo type bolt on both ends, so a local Aeroquip supplier should be able to make up a stainless braided line with the banjo ends to the necessary M50 length. I haven't actually studied the parts layout on an actual S50 in person yet at the dealer showroom, but I plan on doing so next week when I am off from work again. If these S50 parts can work on our M50s, I suspect a cost of the DIY conversion to come out to about $300 for parts. Has anyone else here looked into this possibility yet? |

| The S50's slave cylinder mounts to the motor case, and disengages the clutch by pushing in. The M50 engine case lacks the machined boss and mounting pounts for the slave cylinder. However, if you really want a hydraulic clutch, there are aftermarket kits available for various Harley models, and I'm sure one of those would be easier to adapt to your bike.

| Thanks Dr. Bob for the specific info on the S50 engine case having the bosses to mount the slave cylinder. I was hoping to improve the effort of operating the clutch by going hydraulic. It seems odd that Suzuki would have 2 different engine case castings for practically the same engine. |
