Default Transponder carrier

I commute to work and have a transponder that I currently use for my truck and bike. Right now, I keep it in my jacket pocket and pull it out, waving it until it registers, using the pay toll lane just in case it doesn't work. Anyone have ideas about a temporary mounting system for it?

Not sure about your state, but in Illinois, you dont have to have the transponder with you, so long as your vehicle is registered to the iPass account.
That's what I've been doing ever since I got hit with $4500 in fines.

any way to put suction cups on it?

my EPass (Florida) came with suction cups to affix it to the windshield and they work great for the bike. I just stick it on the fuel tank and it stays quite nicely.

Ordering JJ Cycle Pass, a new, convenient way for motorcycle riders to use electronic toll passes such as EZ Pass, M-Tag, IPASS, and Smart-Tag

My god there has to be something cheaper.

All good ideas. Just don't want to glue anything to my rig. The unit comes with velcro/glue for the auto windshield, but I never affixed it there. I pull it out when I get to tolls in my truck too, less likely to drop it on the highway.....

Last Thursday i bought the item shown below from the local hardware store for $5. I removed the suction cups and used those holes to screw the holder with the right side mirror. Works great.

I can you always take pictures when i get home if you guys would like.

Wow, big pic! It looks like a winner of an idea though. High enough yet out of the way, removable...... Was it True Value, ACE or some other chain?

Thanks

here you guys go ...... there's really no need for the rubber band since the ezpass fits in snug but its there as extra insurance. I did a 300 mile trip with speeds up to 90+ and the ezpass stayed on without any issues. Also, its very easy to remove the ezpass.

It was a locally owned hardware store. I assume something like ACE, Auto-Zone, pep boys, or True Value would have it.

I also found a site selling it for $4.99

I always just throw mine in my tank bag (outside pocket)...works great! Some of the toll plazas around here are "no slow down" lanes, so you can't tell if it works at the time, but I've checked my statement, and each time it's registered the ezpass.

BikinIT,
I use TAGSAK: soft-sided bag that fits over electronic toll collection tags such as EZPASS, SunPass on my bandit and it works well.

I know the FastLane transponders are really finicky about being near anything metal.

Never even been to Chitown. Flown around it a couple of times. I only voted once last year, only because that all the elections we had. There were like 100 items on the ballot though.

It should register even tho it's in your pocket or saddlebags. Line of sight is preferred, but, not necessary.

My company has EZ PASS and had to send one back via UPS. By the time they got it, there was a toll tab of over $900...in the course of just 3 days. Seems UPS didn't deliver or wasn't able to deliver the EZ PASS expeditiously and ran up a large toll amount until it was finally delivered.
