Default New mods

Here is the time you have all been waiting for. I know everyone has been sitting on the edge of there seats waiting for what I did to Emma over the weekend. The wait is over.

Behold

Flanders (not Ned) 18 degree Drag Bars 33.5 wide
Kuryakyn Iso grips, Stiletto caps, throttle boss
Arlen Ness upswept mirror. ordered both right and left but in the box that was supposed to contain the right a left mirror came.
Johns Kit Lowering Kit and forward controls
I also removed the front fender but will be replacing it soon.

After all this I rode it last night around the block without a headlight. It is a totally different bike. Much tighter Needs some fine tuning to the bars and I will have to get used to the FC but I really like it. More to come soon.

For the complete pic album go to My Album below then select The Rebuild

Congrats kbsnow... good job. Glad to see it coming back together for you.

I like that last pic of the wheel with no fender... I've been thinking about doing that myself as well... looks much meaner with no fender.

So the handlebars look more straight... how does it feel? Do you have to lean forward more?

Also... looks like you moved the turn signals onto the fender... I still havent done mine yet.

Thanks, The fender looks kinda cool but the fender attachment brackets are really goofy looking just sticking up into nowhere. I am 6' 4" with a long reach so the lean is not there at all. If I were smaller I am sure the reach would be a bit much. I wanted that streched out look. As for the rear ts I did that before the wreck along with the rear fender cleanup. Those will be replaced soon and moved as well.

You're an animal Snow, I want to remove my front fender and show off that meaty front tire as well...I just like that stripped look, always have. I guess the only option is to pick up a used set of forks in case you want the fender back and chop those mounts off.

Great job! Kudo's

LOL...I kid because I love.

What about a flat or matte finish...something simple and old school

Gonna be something custom and very different. Wife wants something with red and silver so I don't have to get a new helmet. I think I will see if the guy doing it will do the helmet as well. Not gonna tell ya what I'm doing untill its done. I like the sense of anticipation.

Not Fair......I only have custom mirrors!

I'm glad to see that all is well in Gilbert, AZ. Keep up the good work and may I suggest..............Flat black with glossy black flames or tribal design.

Congrats

Glad to see things coming to fruition. Starting to look good! I like the flat black with glossy design idea. Would be %%%%%in'.

FI controller, I highly recommend the Power Commander III USB. See my thread. Post #20.

Looks good. Though I personally don't like were the signals are mounted. Thats me though. It may just be due to the fact its the large ones instead of the mini's.

Im looking to go with wide drag bars myself. Im 6' 3" so Im interested.

Does the Johns kit help you out at all? Im thinking about going that route. Though I've heard it only pulls them out like an inch and a half and raises them up a half inch. I need to raising!

No worries about the lights they were put there when I had the bags on. looked good then. I have the replacments in hand but am waiting for a few days to do some othr mods first.

I like to johns kit a lot. I don't know why people say it only moves it forward and inch and a half. just measured it and it moves it forward about three inches. WHen i first got on the bike last night i missed the pegs completly when i tried to step on them. that is more then just 1 1/2 inches.

I m thinking about getting longer pegs though. with the move forward they are a little hidden but the air filter cover. any ideas on that

Did you ask your wife before dragging one of the good chairs from the dining room out into the garage?

Seriously, it looks amazing, and glad to see you're moving forward so quickly

Geoff, have you priced out wheels OMG so freaking expensive. I could have put new ones on if I had done nothing else to the bike. I can see it now some guy on the street comes up to me and says; Sweet wheels man but what about that busted headlight.
