Default Is my dealer lying to me?

I'm supposed to pick up my 06 M50 this Saturday. I got what I believe to be a fair price ($5999.00). When I emailed her to inquire as to whether I can get a 2007 model, she told me they won't be available until September or October?

Now I'm reading a post with pictures of a new 2007 M50? WTF?

It could well be that your dealer is down on the list to recieve them. You'll know for sure if you check the showroom in a few weeks.

It's not like they're going to give you an '07 for the same price, though.

Is there any real reason I should demand an '07? This is my first street bike. I've been riding off-road for over 20 years and honestly, I'm quite the newbie and I don't want to make a purchase I'll regret.

Thanks for any advice.

For the amount you should be able to save, get an '06. There shouldn't be any major differences between 06 and 07.

Yup. If you're going to ride the bike and not just polish it, there won't be any mechanical issues from it having sat for a few months.

The only real change on the '07 model is the addition of the fuel gauge... Pretty neat, but not entirely necessary... I guess.

Yeah, about the biggest thing you'll miss out on the 07 is the fuel guage...and with the warning light on the 06 you won't miss it.

Take the discounted price & get out there riding.

....and get a Blue one!

Was your dealer lying? That depends, were their lips moving?

do this to them, its what I did...

I was in the market for an '06 myself due to the discount. I was going to different dealers for the weekend and found one with an '06 in stock and he offered me $5899 for it. Needless to say I was excited about that price. I went to the next dealer and they had brought in an '07 for me to look at (first one in the shop). We started talking prices and he gave me the MSRP, which I basically laughed at and told him that I am more interested in the '06 another guy was offering me due to price. With that said, he took the price down to $5899, and took $300 off of dealer fees. Must have been desparate!

So in the end I walked away with the first '07 in Orlando for a '06 price

The short answer is of course your dealer was lying...don't know what about but they were lying.
Take the 06...save the buckaroos

dealers only received a certain amount of each vehicle per build out and if they have to get rid of their current inventory first, before trying to sell 07's which might not arrive till later as they are distributed

Polls prove only that more people got suckered by the stealer into buying black bike when they should have bought red. Also make note that the M50r was only made 1 year and was dicontinued after that, so most people will have black anyway and beacuse of that the "poll" will be tilted in the slowers favor.

To both of you guys who just bought your bikes "original poster and the guy who bought the bike in orlando" what was your total out the door price?

I would be super excited to find a m50 for 5999 assuming they dont rip me off on the "dealer fees" Id love to know the totals so I can have some figures to work off of.

Buy the one that will make you happy. If the 06 is the color you like, buy it. If it is not really the color you want don't buy it because deep down you won't be satisfied with you purchase.

As far as which color is faster, who cares if you want speed buy a crotchrocket.
