Default FI red light on/flashing in dash readout after PCIIIusb Install

Of course, by the time I got it all installed, pipes on and buttoned back up, it was too late to reach Jamie at Fuelmoto...

Has any PCIII user seen this? Once I start the bike, the FI indicator flashes in the odometer panel, and the FI red light is on all the time.

I got the PCIII with a map for "Custom Air Intake and V&H Straightshots", but the intake won't get to me until Wednesday...could that be the issue (the PCIII is looking for A LOT more intake flow, and not getting it)?

Any ideas would be helpful...I'm going to go hook it up to the laptop and see if I can A) figure out how to save Jamie's map, then flash a map for JUST V&H Straightshots as the mod...perhaps that will help until Chromewhore's pieces get to me (they shipped today from AZ, so I should see the intake/adapter Wednesday when I get home from work).

Oh...and the Straightshots SOUND MEAN!!! Definately a much cooler sound...I'll try to post a clip of before/after for the sound later on tonight. First things first- to try to solve the "FI" indicator issue though.

Thanks in advance folks!

Take a look at this thread.

http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...r-install.html

I had a FI light at one point. The problem was loose pins in the injector connectors.

First thing I would do is chech the PC3 harness and connectors to make sure no pins are pulling out.

Well, everything SEEMs good and snug, no loose pins, nothing pulling free of connectors...I don't know what else to check...any other ideas?

Oh, and of course, Powercommander is having phone issues- the numbers on their site are coming up "Invalid"...both their 800# and the 702# they posted for tech support...nothing's ever easy!!

UPDATE: VHMIKE73 IS AN IDJIT!!

The problem wasn't ANYTHING to do with the PCIII....The electrical connector on the stock airbox wasn't reconnected because I'm a moron and missed it. Plugged it back in, viola...it's all back to normal. Okay, not "normal"...trust me, this ain't a NORMAL sounding M50!!

Now I can focus on riding it!!

I hate doing stupid things...sheesh...

WHEW!!....had me worried there for a moment! Glad things worked out Mike.

ya, not only does it happen to us all, but thankfully us upright walkin' apes learn from our mistakes.

Everything works out in the end...it's a matter of how much strife you can put yourself through before you get there!

Now let's hope I reconnect it when my air kit gets here!!

Happened to me too when I de-pairvalved. Forgot to re-connect the gold thingy and was stumped about the FI light. Re-connected and back to normal.
