Default Couple Peg-related things...

Hey folks,

First, regarding Kury adapters for their pegs: the 8821 adapter WILL NOT fit the M's passenger brackets. The bracket just isn't deep enough to allow the use of those adapters. JP Cycles lists them as their part number ZZ53082...and shows them as fitting the M50. Not true, unfortunately. I'll give the 8802's a shot and plan for having to work a bit to move the pegs. Oh well...

Secondly, if you have Kury Switchblades, MAKE SURE the screw that holds the heel strap on the body is TIGHT on each peg...if it loosens (as my left side inexplicably did), the small spring/steel ball that allows the strap to lock in each of it's positions will fall out of the hole in the body of the peg and render the 'switch' action useless, meaning the strap will flop around. Not good times...

Now I'm running a pair of "Retro Pegs" until Kury sends me a replacement ball/spring, but they said they were sending the things out last week. At least the Retros are pretty cool looking; anything beats the stockers!

The 8821's do fit the vz800, however. I haven't put 'em on yet, not permanently , anyhow; waitin' for the local dealer to get the detent springs & balls.

Well that sux Mike....I had my fingers crossed for ya too. Remember the 8802's are tight with the d washer, just breath a little when attaching everything.

And speak of the devil....I'm out in the garage today doing some detailing and the bolt in my left switch blade nearest the adapter that goes thru and screws into the last rubber pad on the end......it had backed itself out.

I screwed it back in with a touch of blue lock tite added........sure enough, the right one was loose too, I did the same thing with it also. It's a shame with these kury things being that expensive and ya practically have to glue them to stay together...

Good thing you caught that when you did, Mav. It sucks when that heel strap decides to let go and flop around!

And yeah, I was hopin' the 8821s would actually work- but I'll go with your mod...and hopefully I won't lose my already limited patience too quick!
