Default Oneida Suzuki review

All i've heard on these forums was what great prices they have, what i should have asked was how long from ordering till they got the part. The prices are great ,but i ordered a memphis shade Bigshot and hardware and it took 8 days for them to just ship it.There web site says it was in stock and never got a email saying it was backordered or anything.Ordered it on Monday, got a email on Wednesday saying my order was processed{whatever the hell that means}.I thought it meant they shipped it.I called Friday and they say it was being ship from 1 of there wearhouses and would be at Onieda Monday and they would ship out that day then email me a tracking number.Thats 1 week to just ship the damn thing they say was in 1 of there wearhouses, not backordered.Come home Monday night check email,no tracking number or anything.Check it Tuesday night and it has tracking number, but when i track it it says that Onieda has been electronically billed for the package but that UPS may not have picked it up yet.Checked the tracking just before posting this and same same.So basically i have no idea if it's on the way yet or not till i call them. This company may have good prices but don't expect to get your order quickly. The damn thing is i only live 2 states away in Massachusetts, poor idiot me thinking it being so close i would get it farely quick as they are in New York.

Don't be so quick to judge. Every motorcycle company has its bad days and this just might be theirs. I have had bad experiences with other places as well but I have always gotten excellent fast service from them and I have bought alot of stuff from them. Sorry to hear about your experience none the less.

Ive placed 2 orders with them and the cheapest delivery rate leaves three days for the credit card processing...something that should take no more than 5 minutes is taking 3 days.

The delivery is pretty quick, but the credit card processing takes a long long time.

in my recent experiences i have ordered a headlight, braided hoses,
frogg toggs, and even throttle cable brackets. every single thing i have ordered in the past 2 months has been back ordered, at least 1 month, and sometimes more. it's the riding season for a lot of people and i think that has a lot to do with it. with the brackets they have been back ordered 5 weeks now and they are projecting shippment in 3 weeks or so. it's very frustrating.....

I ordered a sissy-bar mounting kit from them and I received it pretty quickly. It was in the winter time though, I don't know if that makes a difference.

OK, now why is this information not more prevalent in the forum. I was seriously considering Oneida based on jpwM50's experience (Canadian ordering from US), but I read all 10 pages and now I would not touch them with a +1000 foot pole.

On a side note, I did not know it was "bald-faced lie".

I've ordered from them twice and on both occasion, no problems. Shipping was relatively quick. Took them about a week from the time I "clicked" to stuff arriving at my door..

I just got through the Pipe Saga thread. Wow.

I gotta say, as a former UPS employee in IT at their Chicago ground sorting facility (CACH) that I dread shipping anything via UPS. The automatic sorting system there is, while impressive in its capability, can easily damage packages. I've seen sorters throw HP and Gateway computer boxes. I've seen pneumatic and hydraulic diverters smash packages and throw them off belts. I've watched sorters drop (!) motorcycle frames, engines, and other large items from the truck to the concrete floor. It is not a pretty sight.

On to Oneida. Not only have I found their processing capabilities to be unduly slow, their packaging leaves much to be desired. My first order was for a set of saddlebags, mounts and tank trim. The items arrived in fine shape after a 3 day truck ride and 3 days waiting for someone to enter my credit card info into a computer (something that most other places have automated). The packaging would have been fine, if the box had been taped together sufficiently. The cardboard was falling apart and was open in places. This could easily have happened in transit.
My second order was a GSX-R hooded sweatshirt for my stepbrother. The box was an inverted fedex shipping box - it had been broken down flat, re-folded so the Fedex logo was on the inside, and taped shut. At least this time it was sealed sufficiently.

Many of us have ordered items on the internet in the past. In my opinion, the $12 (thereabouts) charge for the slowest shipping should at least include processing the credit card on the same day that the order is received. As it stands, you can order the clothing items from Oneida and actually pay more for them online than you can at the store, and the packaging will have been compromised.

I think I won't be buying anything from them in the near future, at least until their seller practices change.

Thumbs up

I ordered a Mustang Seat from Eric at Extreme, the shipping was held up at Extreme but it came at a good price and was shipped by USPS which again saved me $'s.

The problem at Extreme seems to occur in shipping and an inability to provide a tracking # although the number is given to them by USPS.
It took 19 days before shipping, 14 days to arrive.

But the price compared to our dealers saved $250. And no broker fees through USPS.

So now I am back to square one... where does a Canadian buy parts in the US and not get s*rewed from behind?

Like I said, this is my own experience ordering from them (Oneida)and I have never had a single issue with them. Being in Canada, we have next to nothing to order from, so I consider them a very good company to deal with.
Also, it takes up to 3 days to process order but 2 days for delivery, thats 5 days total, and for up here in Canada, that awsome, and they do it consistently.
And to be fair, that thread is about the Jardine pipes that they had on sale for 199.00 regular 469.00. Now you have to understand that they were factory rejects in order for them to sell at that price. If there is a problem, blame it on the manufacturer or the shipper in this case, not Oneida.

i've had to have ordered at least 10 times from oneida with no problems. they addressed one defective item efficiently and to my satisfaction. their processing can seem a little weird... but now that i know they will hold up an entire order for 1 item that is not in stock, i have gotten in the habit of calling them after i place my online order to check status. the guy i always seem to get on the phone, Matt, is great. if i find out something is out of stock then i have the chance to cancel that item, so the rest of the order ships.

so do i wish they would ship the next day so i could have my goodies like NOW!? YES! but it's bike season and the busy places aren't shipping the same day. so i'll wait a couple days to have my in-stock items shipped, and in the meantime take that nice little savings discount i just got from them and shop for other toys - thank you very much!

The above is some of the most cry baby stuff ive ever seen "this is in regards to the pipe fiasco"

Take it from someone who ran a aftermarket business for several years. Trust me onieda was completely right in what they said about ups. No company that ive ever dealt with as a business or customer has ever shipped an item out with no regard for the damage claim. Thats exactly what you asked onieda to do.

I swear I think some people think the world revolves around them and people have to jump, skip and bow down before them. If people would just be logical about the situation and understanding it would make life so much easier.

Got to put in a plug here for Dennis Kirk, Quick shipping with tracking numbers and you know before you order if it's on backorder. They will match cheapest price if it's on a web site.

It wasn't a really bad experience, their prices are great, just wish that they would do a better job on keeping a person updated on their orders and if items are backordered.Got my order in about 10 days so thats not to bad and it came in a box that wasn't exactly packed very well, but UPS acually treated the box pretty good and it even had fragile glass stickers on it for the windshield.I'll still order from them just do what BlueM50Chic did and give them a call to see if its in stock, plus now i know when they say that the orders processed they don't mean it ready to be shipped as i thought.
