Anyone used the Austrailian companys ,good reports or bad?. metriccruiser custom .. com zpower ..com metricrider..com ect ???? websites or info or ordering mods ect ,or are you dealing direct from OS. Not to keen on the internet a CC cards and easyer just calling up and talking about what i want and extras i need ect. I tryed calling one OS company ,and all i get is a BBBUUUZZZZZZZING ,not sure if im ringing the right number although it had 10 + numbers. Can anyone give me the cruiser customising phone number to ring from OZ ,not sure if im to put a special numbers in front of their normal phone numbers. | G'day Sledders. Melbourne based 06 M50. Done most of my buying in store but have found www.cyclebitz.com/ that seem to carry quite a bit of good stuff. I've ordered a handlebar mounted helmet lock to get around the OEM being covered by my K-Drive bags.

| Hi sleddog. Melbourne-based old fart. Rear rack, engine bars, foot boards, C50 mirrors, windscreen, all OEM from Mick Hone Motorcycles in Melbourne. Waiting on an order for a set of K Drive saddlebags through them also, should be here any day. Received an indoor bike cover from Cruiser Customizing (USA) yesterday. It came via the US Parcel Service. Took 7 days. I've never had a problem with OS credit card buying. Been doing it for years. Providing it's a big reputable company (Cruiser Customizing is) with a secure system you are unlikely to have a problem. I never call the US, it's too expensive, and there's sometimes an accent problem for them . Email is best, that way you have a copy of the transaction. You can talk online to a rep from Cruiser Customizing, it works great and it's immediate. Remember that the USA is 16-18 hours behind us in time zones if you talk on-line. I found the local customizers expensive, so I always import myself. It helps if the Aus$ is up on the greenback, sometimes I hold off until the exchange rate improves (who am I bullcrapping, I just usually go ahead and order). Be wary of ebay, you can get into strife there if it's an OS deal. Good luck with the M50, I've had heaps of bikes in a long riding career, the M50 is my favourite so far. Basically I don’t drive my car anymore Bit and pieces I’ve kitted her out with are :- Saddle bags, all leather American made but bought in Adelaide from an accessories store for $320 Engine guards, bought from dealer (Peter Stevens) for $160? Ventura bag and rack (Has saddle bag supports in built Ventura grab rail (for when you don’t want the rack) from P.S. $29 Memphis Shades Hell Cat wind shield, from cruisercustomizing.com. Took about 3 weeks and cost $240 delivered. DryRider tank bag from Bills MC, $130 Future = New Jardine Slash Cuts, Hypercharger intake and some new FI controller Cheers

| Yep, did get a couple of scratches no the tank from my gear bag, but they buffed right out. Looking to get some "paint saver" which is basiclly a thick clear plastic membrane that you can put on when you go for a tour. Agreed a bra or tank cover would be better

| A mate of mine uses a piece of that black, thin rubber material that you use to put under floor mats and rugs to stop them slipping around. He cut out a piece the same size and shape as the tankbag, laid it on the tank, and then puts the bag on top. You can hardly see it when the tank bag is on the bike. It sticks like sh*t to the tank, but peels off when you are not using it. Doesn't effect the magnets on the bag doing their job. You can get it at Bunnings or Clark Rubber. For around town I gave up on tankbags due to tank scratching, and instead use a Venturer expandable seat bag strapped to the pillion seat. Same size roughly as a medium tank bag. I can use it for touring also as I rely on saddle bags and a rear rack for my gear, leaving the pillion seat free for the seat bag. But I don't do camping trips much anymore. No electric blanket in a tent!!!!

| Yeah, thanks Aussie. Put the "paint saver" on over the weekend and yes it works but doesn't look real cool. I don't think it will last long Hey, Big ears, glad to hear tht your stuff came as you expected. Seems that the internet ordering thing is the way to go in Australia as Suzuki Aussie isn't real concerned about looking after their share of the market, shame really. Still; go the US cruiser market

| G'day fellas, you're right genuine prices are unbelievable. Luckily I have some friends in the States which makes access a bit more reliable and cheaper for me. After lots of ringing around here in Oz I've discovered that if you want it badly enough you'll have to pay thru the nose as nowhere seems to have reasonable prices.

| Yeah ,that sounds like the go brodie ,im going to get a mate to send stuff over ,like tank bra ect. Well.... i just installed the windshield works great ,abit of a pain to set up at first but got it done in 1 hour ,took it for a spin on a hwy ,done a great job. Only thing is ,it said on the national cycles website {best place for the clear instructions to fit it} that for extra strenght have it against the head light . I don't want to scratch the head light "it does have rubber around the bottom edge ",anyone done this or had trouble with scratching?. I also don't want to to fly off ,but seems very tight ,it's got the crash release conector ,so it's not fully ridgid. See if i can post a picture. |

| Looks good Sleddy. I have my Hell Cat about 10mm above my light for two reasons. Firstly it lets some more air behind it and reduces the vacuum and hence wind buffet or droning from the shield and secondly it can bounce around quite a bit just from the wind. But when I hit the bumpy roads around my house it does bounce around alot, but if I'm going too fast and hit a real big bump (or as in the Grampians water corrugations ) it can bounce so much that it hits the light! So far no damage but it does make a metalic "ding" which is a bit disturbing. If your going to put it on your light I'd get some rubber edging or something in between the two.

| Hi Toolboy ,looks good mate. yeah im going to get a few things from OS . Im going to open a new account at a bank down the road and get a debit card with visa ,so i can just put money in and order stuff ,and not worry about my normal CC being out there for people to get to. Some of the places and sites i have seen have good stuff cheap ,they just don't look very cc safe. |
