| hey, im not from AZ but i know the M does fine over mountains, i rode mine from Roanoke, VA to Fredericksburg, VA....that takes you over afton mountain wich is pretty steep. and there are a few other steep grades along the way. and it does fine around here on the blue ridge parkway...so U should be fine.

I live in Washington I ride up to Mt. Rainier frequently and the M50 has plenty of power. I have been up to 6500 ft. and it performs flawlessly. Get on and Ride my friend! Have no fears.....

| kbsnow I live in the Phoenix area and have been up and down I-17 and other mountain passes which are higher and steeper throughout Arizona all the way up to just above 10,000 ft in elevation and the bike does just fine. As long as you aren't fooling around below 75 mph you'll do just fine (that way you don't get run over). If you want, let me know where you are headed and I might be able to suggest some good roads for you to ride as well. If you've got time there are great backroads to take, but otherwise I-17 does just fine getting you to where you want to go |

| I too travel quite a bit in this area, and if I were you I'd avoid I-17 all together. Dangerous road if you ask me. Too many drivers all doing 90+. Best bet, if you have the time and enjoy would be to take I-17 upto the Hwy. 74, upto Wickenburg, then Hwy. 89 North through Congress, Yarnell, upto Prescott, Sedona, then Flag. Hwy. 89 is a beautiful route through Pine country. Much better than I-17. As for the bike, I do this trip about twice a month and have no problems. Plenty of power.

| Second thought and I trip that I just took last weekend that is a bit shorter and in my opinion prettier and cooler. From Fountain Hills take the Beeline, Hwy 87 up through Payson, Pine, Strawberry, Happy Jack, Mormon Lake, then Flag.

| Blah, blah, blah ![]() | Thanks for the advice all. I ended up going straight up I-17 on Friday afternoon to Prescott and stayed there untill Sunday morning. Rained a little once I got to Prescott no big deal, but it was really soggy on the way back down untill Black Canyon City. The M did great. The next time I take a longer ride it will be on a more twisty less busy road.
