Default Seems another rider in our rank is moving on!

Saw this auction on eBay and realized it was KNIGHTENFORCER's bike.
eBay Motors: Suzuki : M50 black (item 260007089233 end time Jul-17-06 16:38:50 PDT)

Haven't seen him in the forms in a while... If you see this, I wish you well bud!

I think I have a good idea why.
Which is why we must ride together before you get rid of it!

Well, I love the M50, but would like to move on to something a little more performance/sport oriented. Bottom line, I'm more sports/performance oriented at heart.

To throw in a little more detail my type of riding is & planned riding is:

40% commuting in city traffic which is mostly stop and go.

40% 150+ mile solo/group day/weekend trips on the weekend; mostly twist-es and highway. Also want to plan longer 1000+ mile rides in the future

20% 2up riding

As you can tell I'm looking for a "all around bike".

I've been looking at a HUGE list of bikes and so far i have my eye on the Yamaha FZ6 due to the bang for the buck. Don't get me wrong the M50 can do all these things but the Fz6 does it a little bit better and does everything really well. Here's a good quote someone wrote to me in a different forum "You start with your standard FZ6 which will do everything you need it to. But you can upgrade it to be anything you want. I like to think of it as the best combination of the R6 and FJR, and that's the way I'm modding mine. You can affordable add R6 front forks and brakes, R6 light conversion, racing wheels and tires, heated grips, rear Öhlins suspension (okay this one isn't cheap), hard, lockable, removable luggage, GPS; whatever you want. Maybe you can even score a European ABS model. In any case, you can do the mods one at a time as your budget allows. What other bike could you conceive of traveling cross country 2-up comfortably to a race track, racing it competitively, and riding back home on? "

Due to my friends letting me ride there "sport" bikes i have caught the fever more than ever. It's like the same reasons many riders in this forum have switched over to the vstroms for the versatility.

With all this said, i'm in not rush to get rid of the M50 but if I find a good deal for another bike the M50 will have to go. If it was up to me i would keep both, but due to some reasons i can't.

WHOA! You mean someone else in NJ has the 675 BEFORE me!?? ARRGHHHHHH.

Did you get a chance to ask him who his insurance provider is and how much he pays?? How is it classified as a cruiser? Just for sh1ts and giggles, I asked for a quote from my current provider (Progressive) and they quoted me $2000+/yr for full coverage/highest limits everything.
I currently pay $690 for the M50... Damn NJ.

But yea, I have work tomorrow. =T
Saturday is a bachelor party, but Sunday I should be free.. Gonna be around?

Yea man someone else has one . I rode with him again today and just got home . He bought it at the triumph dealer in Edison and he has njrider NjRider . I believe he said he pays 285 a year (not sure about limits) but i'll find out the facts next time i see. He was shocked as well when the dealer told him it was classified as a non-sport bike, but doesn't really know why. I assume njrider does it by the amount of claims on different model bikes. I think I pay 300-something for full coverage from njrider. It would be cheaper but i have to pay a sur-charge since i live in a high theft area. You should look into Njrider. It's the biggest motorcycle insurance company in nj. They give the quote over the phone within seconds.

Can't ride on sundays since i work, but i'm off Fridays and Saturdays. Maybe we can set something up next week. Have fun at the bachelor party man !!

Say Cornell.....

....It definietly seems you've really put a lot of thought into your riding style and options in bikes for your future two wheels.

...And sounds as though you have covered the bases pretty well to end up happy with the next bike ya get.

Ooohhh, I really like the "under tail exhaust" on the fazer alot better than some that look SMASHED up agaist the side of the bike too.

Good luck.

Hmmm... now I'm totally confused. I had NJRider before I switched over to Progressive and they were charging me $800+ for the M50. What gives? I don't have any points on my license nor any comp claims... I think we're around the same age too.

I guess I'll worry more about it when I actually get the 675. What color did your buddy get it in? I'm leaning towards the red...

I'll be sure to get a lapdance in your honor!

Hey lex,

I called njrider this morning and full coverage for a the daytona 675 is $361 and the M50 was $613 both with $400 deductible for a 28/m living in Somerset . The M50 is over $200 bucks more than the sports bike. I guess i was wrong when i said i was paying 300-something on the M50. I don't even want to look at my policy now. I assume njrider was wrong the 1st time you called, because when i called for the fz6 they told me 3g's; I told them to double check and it was 1,075.

He has the graphite color. Its an awesome bike and so many compliments from other people when we ride in our group, but the M50 gets more complements

thanks for the lapdance !

" do miss the forum, it's just that I've been
busy with work, and the kids, you know.
LOL, they actually started a thread...tell them thanks for the well
wishes..I forgot my password, so I couldnt log in

wow, you pay alot for insurance.

I have an o5 m50. I pay $168.00 a year for insurance. However, that is not full coverage. Full covarage was going to run $370. or something a year.

I don't know about other states, but in NC if the bike being financed sells for under $10,000. you don't have to have full. So I didn't.

In NJ we pay the highest for auto insurance so i assume its the same for motorcycle insurance. NJ has the highest population density in the U.S. An average 1,030 people per sq. mi., which is 13 times the national average, which leads to lead more accidents, claims, fraud, etc.

Oh well.. the joys of living in Jersey.
