Zuki-Dude's Rear End Mod

I did Zuki-Dude's rear end mod today. Here are a few pics and a bit of a howto.

Here's how it comes from the factory:


Zuki showed us this mod by removing the whole assembly. I'm lazy and left it on the bike. For those who want to remove the assembly, there are three 10 mm nuts holding it in place. Here's a pic of 2 of them:



You may be able to see where I scored the plastic prior to cutting:


When you make the cuts WEAR YOUR SAFETY GLASSES!!! I used a dremel type tool and 2 of the cutting blades broke on me and bits of hot melted plastic were flying everywhere. Be careful. Cut it up then grind or sand down the lumps of plastic:


After you've completed your cuts and cleaned everything up, drill a 1/4" hole in each tab to mount your plate. It should look like this:
