Default Thunder Air Kit in the rain

I guys just updated my bike with new pipes, pcIII, and thunder air kit. Has anyone had problems with riding the bike in the rain with the thunder air kit? It seems like with the open butterflys you would have problems with rain water in the air filter. Just curious what everyones thoughts/experience is on this.

Kev

The k and n filter is made to shed water....I have a round thunder air kit and never had any trouble in the rain.

Good question kevinm7609, I was also wondering the same thing. And Thank you arkieollie for the answer. I hope to buy one as soon as I get the money.

I got caught in a very bad rainstorm one day a few months back and I mean it was bad (Oregon, go figure). I even had a few cars push a wall of water at me and drench me bad. As you can see from my post sig photo... I even have the "stinger option" and the bike never even blinked at the rain. No problems but maybe I was just lucky too.

Take care,

NA7A

Same thing here, Thunder with Stinger. Rode through some tough rain a couple of times, no problems at all.

kevin or any Thunder MFG Hypercharger user,

Is there a possibility someone post a pic of your thunder air kit installed in your M50? I'm concerned about the leg clearance. Thanks in advance.

I have the hypercharger on mine and the stock box sticks out more than the hypercharger.

Remember to check the K&N every so often after getting stuck in the rain OR dirty roads and keep the filter charged and oiled. If it's dirty and/or pink as a baby's sunburned arse....it'll need done.

If ya have a round or teardrop kit....this helps too.
