Auuurrrrggghhhhh
hahah
man, i just can't win here. maybe we will never agree on the best seat out there. it's true that the saddlemen is made from gel and i'm not sure that's the best way to go. also, if they don't get the fitment right then i'd be burning serious dough. my link to mean cycles was only to point out what seat i was reffering to. i had alot of sites open at the time.

i just wish that the "seat fairy" would come along and *ding* there would be the perfect seat at an affordable price.

but hey, it's a bit fun researching and making my own little holy grail...

Hello People
I am interested in a Corbin seat. After seeing what some of you have said, I decided to e-mail them some of what I have read [sorry if I upset you for using some of it] and below is what they sent back. I have not ruled out Corbin yet, but I am close to going to another company because of what you have wrote. If they treat my fellow riders like that then they will not get my business. Below is the response they sent me. If you want to and have the time, their phone number is at the bottom so you can call them and let them know how you feel. The only way to change them is to let them know how you feel. Maybe the manager does not know how bad the salesmen are. In every business there are some employees that are lazy and maybe that is what you encountered. If you do contact them, post it and let us know your results.

"I am the manager of the Daytona Beach location. We here in Daytona do
our very best to help anyone that walks in the showroom. Sometimes during Bike Week we do get overwhelmed and our level of service suffers. We have a crew of 6 salesmen in Daytona and for Bike Week we bring in at least 4 more to help us out. With a crew of 10 there is no excuse for poor service,
especially if there was not a crowd in the building.

At this time of the year we do get many phone calls. This is not a
reason to ignore a walk in customer. I personally make sure everyone that comes through the door is greeted and any questions answered. I do not think any have gone home without being helped out. At least none that I know of! I will make sure you get the level of service you deserve. Please
either e-mail me back or give me a call at 1-800-223-4332. We will discuss your options and see what we can do for you. I am sure you will find our level of service far greater than what you have heard.

Every time i go into the Daytona store the guys there are the worst service/ sales guys i've come across. i've had the same treatment time and time again. i really fell in love with corbin seats before i got my first bike. and it's just a shame (i firmly believe this) that NO ONE CARES on their staff to reach out and help or even talk to customers. it's as if they don't want to make any money. i was totally sold on Corbin products and would have remained a loyal customer, but i can't stand to do business with a company that does not want my business.

the real deal seal was that i found the dual tour to be a bit high in price at $469. but i felt is was worth it. now due to "oil prices" the new price is $700.
not to mention that i'd need a backrest of some sort... adding at least another 250. so total it's now $900 - $1,000. that's not really looking so hot to me anymore. especially since the service s%$ks.

So &@$# them. onto something else...

seriously, how do the mustang seats hold up. any feedback on mustang, saddleman, or any others would be great.

thanks for putting up with the rant.

piece,

tyler

I went to a friend of mine who works in a dealer and he ordered mine direct from Corbin, here in about 10 days, $400.00, now I can ride for 475 miles and not get "Biker Butt".

BTW.........."Dual Tour".

Well I emailed the Daytona store last night, and I was shocked, but the manager called me this morning, and emailed me back, apologetic. I didn't have a chance to call him back all day, but I'll try tomorrow. I still want the dang seat, so I'll see what he says.

i emailed corbin and asked them about the stinger and the rumble seats adn they said this

"Thanks for writing. The part numbers S-BLVD-M50-STNG and S-BLVD-M50-STNG are currently in production. We will be having full info on these awesome new seats at our website shortly and you can place an order online or over the phone by calling us at 1-800-538-7035.

I hope this info helps - if you have any other questions please let us know. Thanks for your interest with Corbin, it's much appreciated.

Regards,
Michael Alva

and this

We should have photos of those two seats very shortly. We've got a
guy lending us a bike Thursday for pics. The tooling is ready for
production, we just don't have any photos. Sorry for the delay!

Didn't have much luck getting in touch with the manager this past week. I kept missing him whenever I called, but I didn't have much free time at work. I probably still won't get a Corbin because of the price jump, but I'll have to see.

Here's a link to mine.

The more I ride it, the more comfortable it gets.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you, I was at the women's motorcycling conference in Georgia this past week (very cool, over 1000 women riders, some who were older than my mother). Anyway, I'm going to try getting in touch with that manager again, now that I'm home.

My question for you though is this...after seeing how bags were packed on bikes, do you think the Stinger would be okay to use, or is it better to get something you can attach a sissy bar to, for when I want to stack a touring bag on the back. I wouldn't mind getting the solo seat instead, but I do love that Stinger!

I'm kinda surprised that people are still looking at Corbin given how terribly they treated Merlot and how consistent their poor service is being repeatedly shown whenever someone tries to call, write, or visit their locations.

Nonetheless, for those who aren't aware, I had a ButtBuffer installed under the upholstry of my stock M50. Cost around $150, feels great, looks great, took them about 30 min to do. I live in Florida, have not had any problems with it feeling hot, and it gave me no trouble during the 30+ hours of riding over three days at the Gatlinburg / Dragon trip.

Corbin and Mustang have a reputation for making good seats, but I think you're paying way to much for their name when comparable products can be had for a third of the cost, and they obviously have no desire to capture the M50 market.
