Default M50 Wiring

I recently installed the Sylvania WhiteStar Lamp in my head light, and noticed that there were some extra wires that were not connected to anything inside the headlight housing. DOes anybody know what they are for, where they are connected on the other end?
I haven't had time to break out my meter and see if they are hot, or neutral.

I am thinking about adding the light bar that Sundude and NA7A have made ( http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...eferrerid=7936 ), and am wondering if one of these could be used for the hot lead, something that would only turn on when the bike and headlight are on.

Hmm not sure. But Outlaw changed to dual's so he had to rerun all those wires and might clue us in.

Extra wiring for assessories. You can attach your light bar to one of the hot wires.

That's what they are there for.

Is this wiring HOT all the time? I mean, with high or low beams?

I am doing the same lighting project. I want the riding lights on all the time, high beam or low beam, and to turn off when the ignition is off. I'll test this later when I get home from work, but was hoping someone here already knew

When I get my meter home I will let you know. I am also hopeing that they will turn off when the starter button is pressed, like the headlights, to decrease draw on the battery during start-up.

those wires act in the same manner as the headlights. off on start, off with key,and they do not shut off when high beams are selected.

Orange-with-green is (+) and black-with-white is (-)

It is protected by it's own 10amp fuse in the fuse box on the lower left side of the bike.
