Default I opened er up tonight

well, fellas, I went to the local waffle house to hang out tonight. Of course since it was so freakin beautiful, I rode (duh, why else would I post this...LOL)
I decided since I almost never get to, to wear my goggles (goggles are the coolest thing since unsliced bread)
At any rate, once I left, about 11:00, I decided somewhere along the way in white house that once I got outside of town that I would open it up, and finally see just how damn fast this thing would go. (please no comments about riding fast at night, I already know its a bad idea) So, on a long straight stretch of highway 31w headed north bound, before you get to the 31, 25 split, I kicked it down into 3rd gear and stomped it, wound it out in third, fourth, and then snagged fifth... WO,FREAKIN,OW. Be damned if the little scoot doesnt flat out move. It pulled solid to well past and indicated 120, and the needle was hovering somwhere around dead south and still pullin when I let off. I am not going to go makin claims since the speedo only goes to 120, and there is no doubt a bit of optimism in suzukis speedo readings anyway, but do youself a favor, and go look at your speedo youself, and make your own assumptions... I am prolly going to make another run tommorow night and video tape the speedo, if I dont have to work. If I do, then I will post the video.

Have fun, and ride safe guys.

I thought about posting something cool about can't wait to see the video and rock on, etc. But then I got to thinking, the lawyers in the pending case might try to sapina(sp) me for something.
Can't wait to see the video.

I'm ashamed to say this (because I don't speed), but my M has topped out at 115mph. It was a one time deal. At the time, my little brother was riding beside me on his '06 Zuki Hayabusa. He looked down at his speedometer to pace me, looked at me, gave me the thumbs up, and left me at 115mph like I was standing still. He said something about "almost 200mph."

'93 Porsche 911 Turbo with the 3.6 Ltr. man that thing would haul /\$$!!!!! belonged to a buddy of mine.
I owned a '96 Saab that would do 145ish i had a 12 mile commute down the A6 to work everyday and would set the cruise control at 130. fortunately i got (most) of that out of the system while i was there.

Good luck in getting your creditability back, somewhere between 105, and 110 on the GPS is all these "M's" will do.

You could always find a huge hill with a tail wind. j/k

It's pointless; we are talking about an 800cc cruiser. It shouldn't have a fast top end. But what do I know, I don't even own one.

Although we don't condone speeding or racing, we all do it at one point or another. Plus, I think alot of us are really really really excited to see that movie of yours. I am drawing up plans for a video cam mount as we speak, though I'm curious to see where you mount yours! I might have to steal your idea afterall.

I think the best I've done (in a 1 mile section of road) is maybe 110 (indicated). I then did my modifications ( Jardine 2 into 1s, High 5 intake, FI2000, BIG windshield, and I'm 235lbs). Now it's real slow at getting to 100 MPH (meaning that last 10 MPH) in that 1 mile stretch. I chalk that up to the big windshield.

soundcolor99, what mods are you running??

i just completed a cross-country trip in a cage and had a GPS unit with me. i found discrepancies between indicated speed and estimated speed the entire trip at between 3 and 7 mph with an average speed of about 65 mph ( i was in a uhaul ) so this could easily explain why your indicated speed was closer to 120 and Rickster's eye in the sky says 110.
and the suzuki speedo accuracy question, last night i whizzed passed some photo-radar posts set to take pictures at 75mph+ with my speedo planted at 70 and saw some flashes.. . . guess i'll see in a few weeks if it was me (always wanted an action shot of the bike, just didnt want to pay $170 for it)
and finally - BE CAREFUL! every time i get emailed a link that opens with some sort of shot of, or from, a bike - you just know some sorry fool's gonna go down. watch out! cameras cause crashes.
