Default Corbin is in

Well, my wife is about ready to BURST with excitement. I got the call today from the dealer. The Corbin seat for her M50 is in.

I can't wait to help her install it. If there is one major defficiency of the M, it's the seat. I can't say my C50 was much better. I just put a Mustang saddle on that bike. What a huge improvement.

I took some before and after photos of my C50 when I was putting the saddle on. I noticed a huge difference between the 2. I think I might do the same for my wife's seat. I'm interrested to see how it changes things. I can't wait to sneek a ride in either. I let my wife ride mine right after I put the Mustang on, so I'm sure she won't mind. We play nice.

The dealer is about an hour away from my house and 2 hours from where I work. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it up there today or tomorrow, but I know my wife will be pressing me, and I can't blame her at all.

We rode the bikes in to work today, so she'll get one last HURAH on the factory seat before we replace it. It's not a moment too soon either. I gotta tell you, I have been moving the bikes around, and I've noticed the difference between the 2. I'll hop on mine with the Mustang and then get on hers and it's like plywood. OUCH!

While a new saddle is certainly expensive, It would be at the TOP of my list of things to replace. Of course, I've been keeping up with this crew, so I know just how terrible the seat is.

Perhaps we can all get together and fire off a few rounds at my wife's old seat? Would that make anyone feel better? Sorry if it seems like I'm bragging. It just feels great to finally be rid of that thing. I don't have too many folks who understand, so I just had to share.

As soon as I get the seat, I'll be snapping pics. I've got a fantastic camera. I'll get plenty of before and after photos. I've got a thread over in the C50 area about Mustang saddles. I posted the pics of my bike in there. I'll link em in in a minute.

We were a little worried about it, but I've really brushed it from my mind. I mean, The Mustang was said to be FIRMER than stock, but there is a whole lot more cushion there, so while it may be stiffer, it's more supportive.

I'm sure the corbin will be the same way. As long as there is more foam in the key places, it'll be cozy. It may take a little breaking in at first, but even while it's being broken in, I'm SURE it'll be leaps and bounds more comfortable than the stock.

Here's a link to the post with my pictures of the Mustang. There's a pretty big difference between the 2 seats:

OK! The moment you've been waiting for...

We got the seat on tonight. We went after work and got it (JUST BARELY... the store was closing). I was sure we'd eitehr not get it on tonight, or I'd forget a pic. Yet, we managed to get it all. So here are the 3 best. 1 before and 2 after shots.

My wife took it for a quick run and said that it's a MAJOR improvement over stock. Hands down it's far nicer. Just like my Mustang, it's awkward when you first sit on it. It's not bad, it's just different. Once you get moving, it really begins to shine.

I'm yet to take it for a spin myself, but when I do I'll provide some more detail. I did grab a seat on it before she rode off. I must say it's a HUGE improvement. I agree 100%. It'll be nice as it softens up some over time, but right now, it's STILL lightyears better than stock.

We noticed some flaws in the seat. The passenger's section was a bit uneaven. It doesn't look level on both sides. There are also some pieces of trimming around the flaps that cover the back rest hardware. It's barely noticeable. The leatherwork is very nice. My wife is a complete perfectionist, and she said that most folks may not notice what she did.

Ok... enough rambling. Here are the pics:

Thumbs up

Thanks for the pics. he seat looks good. I wonder if corbin will be making a solo seat for the M.

One small suggestion. Please ake off that yellow warning sticker from the tank.

My congrats to your wife. Have fun and ride safe

Although a little more stylized than i would have chosen it looks very comfy. What about the back of the seat, do it offer very much support on long trips as in a back rest???

Its a nice lookin seat, but from the pics it looks to big and bulky on the M. I think a more low profile seat would look better

I really like my Corbin seat. It has a lot of support for my lower back/tailbone area. I thought about getting a backrest, but with my riding position, I don't actually lean back enough to make it worthwhile. I added the V-Rail to help improve the look of the seat. My passenger says it is great seat compared to the stock one.

Hey all. We squeezed in our first long distance ride together yesterday. She took it for a 2 hour round trip. There wasn't a single bit of discomfort to be felt. It was quite hot out (low 90's), so sweating was an issue for both of us, but we were still both comfortable on our seats.

Several things came into play when going with this seat. While style was a concern, comfort was the most important thing. We will likely be doing some very long runs on our bikes as time goes on. The most common run we make is the 2 hour round trip to and from work. So, with that in mind, we have to make sure that both of us are as comfortable as possible.

Now, all that said, I personally might have held out for a different seat instead of this one. Style wise, it's not exactly something that suits my tastes. However, this is a girly bike that my wife rides exclusively, so studs and flame stitching seemed to suit her. I've ridden behind her while she's on the bike, and the seat looks really nice on there. The studs help set it off. If you were to see ME on that bike... well... that'd be pure comedy.

Anywho, comfort wise, it's top shelf, and the style suits my wife, so it was a natural fit. I chose the plain Mustang for my C50, and that was JUST RIGHT for me. It's the right style, shape, and comfort level.
