Default How do you adjust the handle Bars????

I looked in the manual.. I tried to pop off the little buttons that look like they cover some bolts??. They seemed to be stuck on quite well. I did not want to gouge out those plastic buttons.

Any ideas??

Thanks for answering a newbie question!!!!

you do have to get tho's buttons off to get at the bolt heads !!!!
you are on the right track they are in there quite tight if you can get a hold of them well on both sides you should be able to wiggle them out

Take a VERY thin bladed screw driver and pry them off at 2 or 3 points around the perimeter of each one. Then get a 6mm allen socket/ratchet set up and prepare to really put your shoulder into it to get the bolts to loosen. Mine were on very tight! As you retighten them after your adjustment, make sure the top 2 edges of the "U" brackets touch down first. Any gaps when fully tight should be at the bottom edge of the "U" brackets. Just look at them carefully before you loosen them to see what I mean.

How much did you roll your bars back. Im noticing that if I get just a little more back on the bars I would be able to sit up more which would be nice.

I didn't roll them back very far. Just a tiny bit to get them slightly closer to the seat. I'm long in the body so I can't get them too low or I'll be hunched over. My new Corbin seat sits me lower as well as farther back.

If you happen to damage the caps, they are $2.00 each, part 09250-06009

Do not forget to cover the tank....... When you loosen the bars they will want to swing down and dent the tank! Put a couple of towels on it.

Once you adjust the bars you may want to adjust the clutch and brake levers since they will move with the handlebars. I used a thin bladed screwdriver and found that the caps just popped off after a couple of taps.

Be careful not to overighten the bolt on the clutch and brake lever assemblies when re-aligning the levers back to their original position. It's a steel bolt into fairly soft alloy, and it is easy to strip the thread in the alloy assembly. These bolts do not need to be very tight to hold the assemblies at their position on the handlebars. Don't ask me how I know this!

if you move the bars too far back the throttle cable elbows will contact the tank when you turn the bars to the right. i tried adjusting the throttle assymble to no avail it still touches. i think different bars are in order.....

I rolled my handlebars forward just about 5 degrees. It seem to help with my wrists getting sore on longer rides. The little tabs inside the shift and brake levers were easily broken off to adjust. The whole process took less than 10 minutes.

my drags are twisted forward too far by maybe 1/4 turn so my wrists are turned inward. if i roll back before getting longer risers then the brake line assembly will hit worse then the position it's in right now. good info in here.
