Default Removing baffles... how loud is it

If I remove myn baffles how loud is it going to be? I don't want extremely loud pipes. Will just drilling a couple holes be enough to achieve what I want?

LOUD
I did mine and love it. I gutted everything, the plates and restrictors. Straight pipes now.

If you want to open up the exhaust so it will run better and give you a little more sound, you can just drill out the plates and not touch the baffles. If you shine a light into your exhaust pipe you can see a plate that is about 14 inches inside the muffler. If you can find a long enough 1/2" to 5/8" extension bit it is fairly easy to do. I had to grind down the shaft on a bit so it would fit an extension in order to reach the plate. I then drilled two holes in the plate of each muffler. It opens up the exhaust, gives you a deep tone from your pipes, and it does not change the appearance of your mufflers.

Plates? Restrictors? Is there more for me to remove? I did the 3" hole saw and broom stick trick, but all I got out was the baffles. Is there more?

Jonger, drop me a note, I'll light up my pipes for ya on the phone at 3:15 today.

If thats the case I probably won't do it. I want it to be louder, but not window rattling. I know if I do it I will be sorry and poorer.

Wait until you go down the road at 60mph and then see how loud it is or have someone follow behind you they can tell you.

They are not window shattering loud by any means, but they are louder for sure. I would say they are perfect for somebody that doesn't want extremely loud pipes. I want louder though and will be getting some hardkromes.

I drilled one 15mm hole at the end of the back baffle ( the one you see when you look into the can from the back) and six 10mm holes in the end plate. Never needed to remove anything. Its Loud but from about 45 MPH the wind noise past my helmet becomes louder. Go for it it sounds great!

After removing my baffles I can hear the exhaust at any speed with a full face helmet on.

My wife tells me that she and our dog can hear my bike for about a minute or so before I get to the house.
