| I have the misfortune of needing a new rear tire because of a leak. The local dealer I take the bike to for service said it's best to replace both because of different tread patterns. Are they BSing me? Joe |

| What if you were to put the IRC tire on the rear? Wouldn't it have the same tread pattern? I have heard if you change brands then you should get both tires of the same brand at the same time, but if you're just replacing the rear w/ another one just like it, then I don't see the logic.

| If your on a tight budget then replacing one tire at a time is ok so long as there the same brand and style. But its always better to replace both at the same time.

By the way, what's the typical treadlife on a motorcycle tire? Thanks. Joe | |

| The front tires will generally out last the rear. I agree that if you are sticking to the same brand, you should be ok. I know that a front tire can last up to 1000 miles longer than a rear tire in some cases. Don't throw away money if you don't need too.
