Default floor boards and forward controls ?

has anybody installed both or these?
The forward controls raise the pegs a little ?
so floorboards would clear a little better on a lowered bike?
considering both of these so i need a little feedback please.
Thanks ,Mitch

meier50:

I put the John's Kits forward controls kit on my bike, and I use Kuryakyn Switchblade pegs...with the heelrest extended, it sits like a floorboard might, and it seems comfortable to me. I posted some pics in the Members Photo Gallery forum, here's the link to the two groups of pics:

Personally, I think they'd be fine with the smaller floorboards that are M50-specific (I think jpwM50 installed a set on his bike)...

Hey Mike. I was looking at your pics and I noticed you left out a part on your foward control kit. Your suppose to use the stock gear link with the extension that John gives you. Thats why your shifter is way to low... Unless you want
it like that. Just thought I would mention it, I just got thru installing my kit yesterday.

Nevermind ...I see you did put it on.

Yeah, I just dialed it down pretty low ...it clears the toe of my Matterhorns, but I regularly ride in a pair of Magnum boots and the toe on them isn't as boxy.

Didn't get a real good shot of the new parts John's kit includes though. How much fun did YOU have getting the original cotter pins out of the brake rod? Sheesh...what a pain the rear one was to get out!

I had no problem with them at all...It took me about 25 minutes to completely install the kit. I have an after market exhuast on mine and was able to remove the side panel to get easy access to the cotter pins.

M50 floorboards are great and clear just fine after lowering, its the kickstand that scraps.
