A new seat for the M50 can't come soon enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went for a two hour round trip today and boy does the behind hurt, the first hour started to get bad but the second was pure torture! It feels like I was riding a board.

Does anyone have an update on this seat? has anyone purchased one? Is it comfortable? My wife and I are looking at getting a replacement seat for her M50. She hates the stock saddle (big shock). Since Corbin and Saddleman are the only 2 making seats for the M right now, we are stuck trying to get the most reasonable replacement. The saddleman saddles are a bit cheaper and more readillly available. The Corbins are neither cheaper nore readilly available. Any opinions would help (if anyone has purchased and is using this saddle).

That's the verbatim response I got.

Hmm...I wonder what month Cookie thought it was when she responded to my email at the end of March? I just called Dennis Kirk and the CS rep told me the Profiler seat would be in "at the end of May" , and as jpwM50's link shows, they have only marked the seat as 'expected soon' (which begs the question- what's their definition of "soon" ) ...so, another month of suffering this bloody stock seat while I wait for Saddlemen to start shipping the seats.

Actually my seat is pretty comfy, better than stock (as I posted in my other thread). Its wider and takes your tail bone off the mounting area of the stocker. I love the center of gravity being lower. I don't carry passengers so the pillion is just for show/coverage. I don't even have the passenger foot pegs installed.

Good to know

Does anyone have any experience with Saddleman seats? I've had some older riders fill me in on Corbins and Mustangs, but Saddleman is newer than they're familiar with.

Since Mustang cursed the M50, I'm left with Corbin and Saddleman as options. The price of the Saddleman is certainly more attractive, but I'm afraid of spending money without ridding my wife of the true issue - comfort. It's IMPERATIVE that I kill this problem swiftly.

Everyone knows... If Momma ain't happy... ain't NOBODY happy!

I've heard saddlemens is fine as long as you don't leave them out in the sun too long.

My Corbin has not come in yet, but I am thinking about buying the tattoo profiler because of the flames. For special rides (Solo) and or bike shows.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I called Dennis Kirk today to check the status of the Saddlemen Profiler Seat. According to the customer service rep, release of the seat is mid June so keep an eye out and hopefully we may have another option by the end of the week.

I got the Corbin e-mail too. I have my dealer calling on the Stinger tomorrow. The only bummer about them releasing it now is that the price went up from $300 to $449 recently. I sprung my dealer into action tonight so we will see what happens. Hopefully he can get a discount. If I get what I feel is a fair price I am going to order one tomorrow.

Default Saddleman Explorer available 6/29

I just ordered a Saddleman Explorer with a built-in passenger backrest for $450.00 off Ebay. Claims it will ship 6/29. Has Gel pads front and rear. Cheaper than buying the factory gel seat and a backrest plus I like the idea of being able to pull the touring seat off and going solo for looks without having to unbolt the factory backest.

Girlfriend has a sore butt after 25 miles on the stock seat. My limit is 120 miles with the stock seat but I won't ride solo with that big clunky 2 up saddle on the bike. Factory Gel Seat has no passenger gel, but I may order one for riding solo.

I'll let you know what the Explorer is like when I get it.

I bailed out and took a refund. Seat is not available and on back order. FYI, a buddy gave me his c90 passenger seat. Bolted right on and looks about the same as stock but thicker and wider ... just the way the girls like 'em, right? My girl is gonna love the new cushion.
