Default Fitting Techlusion Unit

Hi,

For those who have fitted the techlusion units to their bikes can you help me with which wires you connected the blue and grey wires too. I followed the fitting instructions from a link of here and spliced the grey/white and grey/blacks but when the bike is idling the green/yelow/red leds flash signaling error???

It's not an error. That's what the newer units do now. Notice when you start adding throttle only the green light goes on, and then the others at higher rpms.

Billy,

On the fitting instructions #3 Troubleshooting its says "The TFI unit has a built in fault detection if you incorrectly hook up any other wires. It uses the green and or Red LED so that if the green light flashs after the bike is started the blue wire is on the wrong coloured wire at the tap connector. The red light flashing tells that the grey wire conection is incomplete"

I have both green and red lights flashing once the engine begins to idle???

Oh that's different. See I have the Wild Things Controller (basically a rebadged Techlusion unit with Kuryakyns name on it). At idle every light flashes in a rolling sequence. In your case, only the green and red are flashing? You might want to call Techlusiion with this, from all accounts they are good at answering the phone.

You attached to the grey wires with the black and white stripes, right? Not the White wire w/ grey stripe and the black wire w/ grey stripe... They exist, and that's what I almost went after, because I couldn't find the grey wires at first and thought instructions were wrong....

Did you use the search function here. When I had the TFI installed I printed out pictures from a members instal on a M50.
It was very detailed instal. Back around Aug. or July.

When you start it and it's going through the warm-up (high idle), on the TFI does only the green light come on then once it settles down to it's normal idle all lights flash (yellow, green, and red) if so then that is normal. If not then call Dobeck and they can help you...also hold the throttle open till high idle, only the green will come on, now with the green on snap the throttle open smartly and then close just like you are blipping the throttle at a stop and you will see the yellow come on then go off. If it behaves just like I have described you have it fitted correctly...Zed

Zed,

Thanks for you comment, what you say happens to my bike. Intial start up and high idle the green light is on and when the rpm's drop to normal idle all 3 lights flash. But reading the fitting instruction from Dobeck, flashing lights mean a fault??? Being in Australia is a little difficult to call Dobeck, maybe shoot them an email.

Thanks

Toolboy

That confirms it, it's working correctly.

Has anybody fitted a Techlusion unit to a M50 that has an O2 sensor in the silencer? I have and I am having trouble with the settings most people on this forum are using. I smell a lot of unburnt fuel from about 3000 RPM up. At idle she behaves and does not make any smoke.
If anybody has had their bike professionally tuned I would appreciate the settings. Thanks!
