| I have seen a couple of side mount license plate brackets on the M50 mounted to the large bolt that is above and slightly forward of the rear axel. I think the purpose of this bolt is to keep the rear gear housing from rotating??? I am thinking about mounting my plate this way and was wondering if anyone has had any trouble with this install.

| no real issue's here either S2Design.....I did need to make the hole larger on the license plate holder/mount that I purchased to fit the bolt back through to bolt it back up though.

| I must be in the minority. I think plates mounted sideways like that look really dumb.

| Add me to the minority list, the rear of the M50 defiently needs to be tidied up but mounting to the side,,mmmmmmmmmmm no i dont think so but i have saddlebags fitted. If i can find a way of mounting the indicators inside the rear tail light then mount your plate underneath well that would look cool. Toolboy |

Not to do it is cool too, it's what ever each of us want to do with our own bike, that's all.

Your comment got me thinking TB.....here's a thought if ya can't come up with something inside the tail light. Maybe go with the type of turn signals that "zuki-dude" used from customdynamics.com for the rear: http://www.zuki-dude.net/led-pics.htm And once you have ripped all the hangy stuff off the back....some how bolt the license plate to the fender using these empty holes-(pay no attention to the screws in them on mine) under the fender, maybe with "L" shaped fasteners for the license plate, in a sorta laid down positition so's not to rub the tire. just a suggest to play with.

| Go with that and then modify a laydown plate like for the VTX. I believe (?) there's 2 screws up on the brake light housing...you could probably modify the mount plate with new holes that fit those. Or make your own bracket to hang down farther and bolt the laydown to that.
