I got the gel seat from Suzuki. It's not much better. I have about 1k miles on gel seat, so it's broken in... just not doing it for me...

I'm sending the original driver seat into american soft seats to have it redone. Pretty decent price. Don't know when it will be back, but will post my review when it's here.

definitely keep us posted on THAT pete!!!

in looking at their site, just be sure to tell them you need the back part where the padding is thin over the mounting plate padded. that is the biggest problem with the M. they seem to do work to the lower area where your butt actually is, rather than the back where it hits your tailbone area.

Thanks for the advise. I really didn't notice this until this weekend. I took of the passenger seat and rode for about 200 miles. Tailbone much sorer than normal. I guess I was using some of the padding from the passenger seat or the passenger seat was keeping me a little more forward than without it. It is really thin back there.

Also, I saw on ZD's website pics of his seat. Where did his seat mounting go? Did the seat back cover it? How is it connected?

Thanks, everybody. I've been a "lurker" for a while, posting hither-and-tether in eager anticipation of my beast. Love the thing.
I was "bad" and rode to work this morning. Trying to get as much riding before it gets too cold (was almost there this morning...no more 40 degree temp rides for me for a while!!!).
Here are a few thoughts that hit me on my way in...enjoy:

A few things I've learned with by first bike…

#1.) Get a comb to carry around with you, get a short haircut, or just get it all shaved off…helmet hair is NOT attractive.
#2.) Do NOT forget to factor in "wind-chill" when you decide to ride in the morning. Forty degrees outside is going to be about twenty below while riding.
#3.) Gloves are a good thing.
#4.) People making fun of you for riding in 40 degree temperature are just jealous.
#5.) Breathe through your nose as much as possible with a full-face helmet on. A fogged up visor isn't a good thing…also, if you forget to brush (which I did NOT forget to do), the morning breath blowing back into your face can be just as bad as hitting a deer, I believe.
#6.) Remember to try and keep track of what gear you're in. If your bike is a 5 speed, don't try shifting into sixth gear…it ain't goin'.
#7.) Smells are amplified 20x stronger than in a car. Cut grass smells better, someone burning a brush pile smells better; but it also works the other direction…a dead skunk smells deader and "skunkier".
#8.) Don't forget…the button on your turn signal switch turns off your signal. You're not in Florida and not 95 years old (no offense to anybody that is… ).
#9.) The "biker wave" is cool. Makes you feel important.
#10.) Grin as much as you want while riding…nobody can see the big, goofy grin on your face with a full-face helmet on, anyway…enjoy it.

Grab some "No Fog" or just wax the inside of your visor and you'll fix your fogging problem.

Thank, "The Teach"...I will definitely be getting some "No Fog" or something. Once I started riding, and the wind was going, it cleared right up. A little wax wouldn't be a bad idea, though.
I'm glad you liked those, EZ. I've been waiting these past few months with baited breath (does that mean it smells like worms?!?). Finally it happened, and it was better than I had even imagined. Now, I just need to get a big Decepticon sticker to slap on the side of the tank and I'll be set.
Someone mentioned that the new M109 looked like Shockwave (may have been you...). I have to agree. I rike that bike, too! Maybe after a few more years on this one I can move up.

No *bling* planned any time soon.
I love the sound of it, love the looks of it, but plan on getting a back for the pillion next spring so my wife can join me. Other than that...she's stayin' stock.
