Default Cobra Pipes

Any news on those new Cobra pipes someone mentioned on here a while back? I am trying very hard not to spend $550 for the Morton's and $660 for the Highway Hawks, but they look awfully cool!

A friend in El Paso bought the Cobra pipes about 6 months past and they are blued about 8 inches from the headers,,,,had the bike checked and diagonistics were fine.....from what I have read on forum and seeing this, I dont think they hold up well, as to poor chroming techniques.....this persuaded me to go with the hard chromes......

Hardkrome. Double wall pipes. Won't blue. Guaranteed.

yup...once i saw the pic at mortons website, i recognized them. im not feeling that look on the M, but would sure be uniques and attract some attention. just not my style.

Jardine 2:1 are en route so i have picked my poison based on Tim and M50 Hooligans advice.

Hi rabbit, What type of cobra's did your friend have on his bike?

I've got time to wait for the streetrod's, then make sure they have full length heat sheild, cross over and so on before making my decision on what pipe from who to go with. ...yeah cobra's chroming process has me wondering, but there's a thread from a week or so ago in here somewhere with someone running accross somebody that had cobra's from 2001 with no problem...so heck I'm kinda and somewhat up in the air on this.

Mavman, he comes over to ride with the club once in a while..not sure which ones they were..but they were 2 sort of straight pipes ,,,,,didnt have fancy curves or anything... I will ask him at the next breakfast if he comes over..he did say they did'nt have enough heat shields on them and he burned several pair of pants on them.....later...rabbit

From my understanding the Cobra drags don't come with heat shields; this would explain your friends blue pipes.

Most pipes blue, is just a matter of how good the heatshields are at covering it. I'm also waiting for the Cobra Streetrods, but if they are not out by the time winter is over then I'm going with the Jardine 2:1 setup.

Cobra hasn't updated their site with what they look like on the M50/C50 but should look like they do on the Honda Aero 750 below:

http://www.cobrausa.com/content/inde...aust&bikeID=64

p.s. I had also emailed bells suzuki and their reply was:

I have not got the update yet from parts unlimited which is the cobra supplier. So I'm yet to get the pricing. Sorry I could not give you any more info than that. I should recieve an update before Christmas.
