Possible I guess, but the problem was two-fold.......the rigidity of the boot, (would not give and let my leg move), and the fact that it was an ankle high boot, (the leg shattered at the top edge of the boot). Steel-toed boots tend to be very rigid, which is necessary to fulfill their role in a work environment. Riding boots, however, tend to be more flexible and give so there is less torque applied to your leg in an accident.
