Default Not Entirely Satisfied

I don't think that I have found my riding style yet. My beginner bike was an 83 Yamaha Seca 750. When that one had mechanical issues one day, I was able to limp it to a stealership where I drooled over their bikes while they fixed mine. I ended up buying a 99 or 00 Suzuki Katana 750. I ended up selling it because I got tired of being hunched over all of the time. I now ride an 08 Suzuki C50T.

This C50 is my favorite thus far, but I just can't see myself wanting to take a several hundred mile journey with it. This past weekend I went on a 200 mile spur of the moment ride, and although I loved the twisty roads I was on, I was finding myself wishing I was on a V-Strom style bike for some reason that I can't fully explain - I've never been on that type of bike. My bum was sore towards the end, but I figure that'll be an issue with any stock seat.

I now find myself wanting to switch to a V-Strom, and am wondering if it's really as good an idea as it seems, or if it's one of those "grass is greener" things. Comfort is number 1 concern to me, with luggage capabilities being a very close 2nd. Right now I have 2 saddlebags, a luggage set sitting on my passenger seat attached to the passenger backrest, and a tank bag. If I were to go to a V-Strom, I'm not so sure I could take my backseat luggage with me.

I'm hoping that you people will (with my best interests in mind), either talk me into or out of this change. I find myself riding alone most of the time (don't really know any other riders), and I much prefer the long rides to the short commutes to work or what have you. In fact, I usually just take my car on the short jaunts.

Thanks for your help peoples!
