Default 650 mile a day man - The Rambling Bambling Guy

Yes,

It's your truck driver / motorcycle guy here again.
I do 650 miles a day in my rig. Takes me the full 11 hours to do it.
Your allowed to drive 11 hours before nap time in an 18 wheeler.

So, I have this Vstar 1300 tourer bike and I truely love it. I could easily
sit on that seat and do the same 650 in a day, problem is,,,, the range of the bike with it's nearly 5 gallon tank will only allow you to cruise say 170 between fill ups.

So, I wonder if there is some after market extension to this which would give the bike a greater range. I have already bought myself a 1 gallon plastic gas can, which may be all I will ever have, but just wondering if there is some commercial after-market extension to move that range out past 250 miles.

There used to be some stretches of road which exceeded 200 miles between gas stations. Wonder if that is still true????

While I drive my life away in this rig, I still would just love to take a cross country trip on the 1300 for a week. Maybe next year.

Peter Egan is my favorite column writer. I'm going to order his book so I can read it when I get home. I figured, with pup tent and sleeping bag, I could probably get everything I needed for a 1 week cruise on the bike together and go.

In 1 week I could loop the entire west coast and be back to Oklahoma.
Ha! And if gas keeps falling, $1.99 11-2-8, I might be able to do it for under $100.

At least I don't have to learn to Winterize my motorcycle like Peter does.
Oklahoma has only 1 snowfall a year. It's always in the 3rd week of January.
And only 2 months of bitterly cold WX.

But, I can tuff that out.
