Default Lowering kits for the V-Strom?

I really like the 1000cc V-Strom but at 5'10" w/ 32" inseam I'm just on my tiptoes at a stop which makes me a bit uncomfortable on it. I know with an andveture tourer clearance height is important but if it was 2" lower It would fit me much better.

Is there a kit available to do this? If so what do they run and do they adversly effect the handling? Is this something worth considering?
Thanks!

KoubaLink.com

Also, the seat off the DL650 is one inch lower. I have a "Like new DL650 seat" that I'll sell you for $50.

I have a lower Sargent seat, and the Kouba links on my DL 1000, and if I'm wearing my riding boots, I can flat foot , and I only have a 30 inch inseam.

I'm going to hold off for now on the seat (I don't actually have the Strom yet!) but thank you so much for the info. It is back on the top of my "next bike" list

When you are looking at them at the dealer, have them take a seat off a 650, and put it on a 1000, so you can see how much lower it is. It only take two seconds to swap them.

You could just sit on the 650, but 1000 will still be just a bit taller than the 650, even with the 650 seat on it. The 650 has the longer dog bones in it stock, so it would be the same as my bike, with the dog bones, and the lower seat.

If you are used to riding the bike @ stock height be careful for a while after you lower it. There will be times when you will drag,the steering will be a little different also.
My wife and I had the same model of motorcycles once {77 CB750 Hondas}
I forget how much I lowered her's but it handled completly different from mine.
Not that it was bad, just different.
