I have an 04' Vstrom 650 for sale; E-46 Givi sidecases, hand guards, CEEBaileys 23' screen(and original screen),Fiam dual electric horns(the stock horn was wimpy), Extenda fender(front to protect oil cooler), shop manual, MoTech centerstand, and K&N air filter. This bike is adult owned and operated(I'm 57 with 40 plus years of riding). It has 5500 miles, bike is super clean, never dropped, garage kept. I switched over to mobil one synthetic oil at 2000mile point. Asking $5500. Delivery possible for costs(I'm located in southern alabama). This is a fine machine which does everything very well; you can tour, take dirt roads, play on the twisties, even ride two-up without too much trouble. It's a comfortable bike with the stock seat. I am selling to purchase new Thruxton; going through mid-life crisis....you can reach me johnmerrell@troycable.net. Email photos available..bike is black and sliver with matching bags. Good luck in your search...ride safe..ride on.

The V Strom 650 is a Touring Bike that competes with the BMW, its designed for the unskilled rider, and for long road trips, I say its the perfect bike for you. The Honda Shadow 600 and 750 is slow and heavy, everybody that owns the Shadow hates it cause its too slow. With the V Storm ur not going to win any races, or ride the wheelies, but after a long road trip, u will feel comfortable and relaxed without any sore spot on ur body.

Why would anyone create a bike for an unskilled rider?? Why would they even want them on the road?

LOL! I imagine what he means by that is that it's a relatively
easy bike to handle and fairly forgiving in terms of newbie
mistakes. Such as a decent bike to start out on, assuming
you're not to short in stature.

I imagine if they did build bikes for unskilled riders, it'd
probably have a cage around it along with training wheels
and maybe an engine that wouldn't do more than 35mph.
