Default Hello to the Wiggles!!!!

Hey has anyone noticed any high speed (above 80 mph) front end swaying due to the wind???? Feels like the wind is knocking it left and right,, could the Murph's brace have anything to do with it or possibly the Madstad Windshield mount?? Or has it always been there and now just notice it more since my head isn't bobbing back and forth?

I am thinking it may have been there before but because I have never exceeded 80 mph much due to the buffetting maybe it was always doing it. Just wondering if anyone else's Strom does it. I notice it more around the indicated 80 to 90 mph, which I hear is really only 75 mph, on the interstate.

It makes sense that the faster you go, the more effect aerodynamics has on the bike. I would suspect that those "wiggles" you feel have always been there, it's just that at the higher speed they become more pronounced and noticible. That's my guess as an amateur aeronautical engineer.

I regularly ride roads that allow 80 and up "cruising". . . Even with the Manta screen and my HT Luggage I don't get any "wiggles". On my way back from Reno last month I had my worn out rear tire changed at a stealer in Fresno and no more than a few miles from the shop noticed a hands off, decel oscillation in the front wheel. Stopped, checked the rear wheel alignment, found it off "ever so slightly", fixed it and the oscillation disappeared.

Sean didn't you have this issue with the Intruder as well?

Maybe you need to get your arodymaics checked.

Hmmm,,, just adjusted the chain. Used the marks on the swingarm. Could be the rear wheel is out a little. How does the dealer check the alignment???

The Intruder does it on deceleration only. This feels more like the wind is knocking it back and forth. Probably nothing,,, but I will keep an eye on the tire wear.

Don, were you saying Sean's head is the cause of his wiggles?

Tim and Pete, you will have to respond to Don.
I am having trouble with this vision of Sean, with Rabbit Ears, in Pink Chaps, riding down the freeway.

Don, tape your ribs quickly.
