Default Finally Received Hard Bags

I bought my '06 DL650 in late February and ordered (and paid for) the Suzuki three piece hard luggage set at the time. The dealer said it should be in by late April...I got all the brackets and the top case but no side cases. They said they should be in by the end of May..then they didn't know...then a shipment was in transit on the ocean and should be in by mid-June. I have a long trip planned for late July and I had to have some luggage so I spoke with the sales mgr. at the dealer. He assured me that they would give me a full refund even for the brackets and top case which had been installed and they would get me a set of Givi or whatever else I wanted. He even offered to loan me a large set of Joe Rocket soft bags. Well the side bags finally came in today and snapped right into place. I'm glad I waited for the Suzuki bags because of the color match (red) and they do look like quality luggage. By the way, the dealer gave me a $100 gift card for being so patient which I thought was fair.

Here's a couple of pics. They just snap on to the brackets and removed by turning key to left. Pretty much a one handed operation

Those look pretty cool. Lots of storage room. Wonder how waterproof they are???

They seem to be very tight and both "clamshells" have overlapping soft rubber seals much like a helmet visor. I need to wash this pig anyway and while they're empty I'll spray the hose on them and see how they do. Let you know...

stp...I washed the bike this weekend with a good deal of pressure and with the bags on the bike there was zero leakage. I removed the bags, set them on the driveway and sprayed them hard from all different angles TRYING to make them leak and far exceeding normal rainy weather road conditions. The two side bags had just a few drops inside but the top case stayed completely dry. For traveling in wet weather I'm considering them waterproof and have no plans to use any additional protection for their contents.

+1!!!! Good report!!!! Thanks!!! May have to look into them in the near future,, or at least the top case for helmet storage and I bet the backrest for "J" would be greatly appreciated too.

In addition, I was very surprised by how well the bike handles with all the luggage full. To get some idea, I packed all three pieces with as much as I could find...Heavy leather jacket, chaps, my old Navy Pea Coat, folded up bed sheets, blankets plus I added the Kuryakyn Grand Tour bag full of stuff to the passenger seat (great backrest!). I assumed since the bike is so tall it would make the bike hard to handle at least in city stop and go riding but it didn't. Yeah, you know the weight's there but I cranked up one notch on the rear spring preload and it rode smooth...like a cruiser. On my sheepskin-Gel seatpad, with my feet up on the Dan Vesel highway pegs and leaned back against the backrest it was almost like sailing down the interstate at 80 in my La-Z-Boy! Very comfortable!
