Default Handlebar Risers

I think I mentioned in one of my earlier posts that I wish the seat was about an inch lower or the handlebar about an inch higher. I was looking at the GenMar X102 risers specified for the V-Strom and they appear to be about what I'm looking for. The literature says it raises the bar 1" and back 1 3/8" which sounds about perfect for me. Anybody on here tried them?

Sorry, I can't help you, I thought about getting some of them a few times, but decided to go with the lower seat instead.
By the way, if your bike is a DL1000, I have a lower seat I can sell you. I have 3 of them.

I had the 1" up genmars, it was almost perfect, so I tried a set of the ups and backs I had laying around......it felt too awkward. sw-motecs have the .8
1", and 1.2" ups, I bought the 1.2", perfect now. Quality not up to par with genmars though.

Smitty..Do you mind if I ask your size? I'm 5' 10" with long arms and stock isn't bad but I could relax my shoulders a little more if the bars were up and back just a bit.

Rickster...Thanks but mine's a 650

Smitty...Did you have to use a longer brake line with the GenMar product or were all stock cables and lines okay?

I had to slightly reposition the front brake hose clamp on the fork tree to get a little more "length", it was ok as it was , just a little snug. All other wiring and cables were plenty long enough.

I received the Genmar up and back risers yesterday and took maybe 15 minutes to install them including one re-adjustment. Just what I wanted and needed. My hands now fall naturally to the grips with no reaching whatsoever. No more stress on my shoulders and wrists either. It doesn't feel awkward at all.

Nope...Just adjust the bar angle and snug it down good and tight.

Do you have any pics of them installed??? Wonder if that will make it so that if one was to buy the Rifle shield or whatever shield that normally the handguards hit,, will this move it back towards you more so they will not hit???

Or does it just move it directly upward?

That looks like it would work with the aftermarket shields and the handgrips. Hmmm,,, plus the added benefit of raising the bar and bringing it even closer would be great.

How much are they???
